Bill White claims on his own site that some of his people did a swastika banner drop from a bridge in Portland, Oregon recently. He also writes "An ANSWP event in the Pacific Northwest has been organized for the first weeks of July."

Jim Ramm, who is still a member of the National Socialist Movement, says that White is lying about the banner in Portland, that it did not happen.

After listening for hours to the online ramblings and rantings of an angry neo-Nazi, a federal judge ruled Wednesday night that William A. White is a danger to the community and should be held without bond.

"It's your own words, Mr. White, that require me to detain you," U.S. magistrate Judge Michael Urbanski said.

A national white supremacist leader who allegedly masterminded a series of neo-Nazi incidents in the Portland area early this year has been arrested on federal civil rights charges.

William White, 31, heads the Virginia-based American National Socialist Workers Party. He took credit for a series of swastika flags flown along Interstate 5 and Highway 217 near Tigard in late February. The flags were hung from red balloons. Some were attached to buildings.

At the time, White told the Portland Tribune that the flags had been flown by local followers. White declined to identify the followers in an e-mail exchange with the newspaper. No one has ever been arrested for the incidents.

Imagine you're a self-proclaimed, neo-Nazi leader who routinely spews hatred and disdain against blacks, Jews and others.

You get arrested on a charge of encouraging violence against a juror and end up in federal court in Chicago.

You're sitting before U.S. District Court Judge William Hibbler, who belongs to a group of people you have derided as "half-ape" and "n-----s."

In other words, he's black.
