His actual work phone number and email address was posted in the comments section at The O tonight at 10:45 PM. I found it at 1:35 AM and tried to call a human being at the O to request the removal of the info and the poster be banned for doing it but could only get voicemails in every department.

Larry XXXX (360) 943-XXXX   XXXXX@thurstonXXXX.org

Posting his or anybody elses home or work information is completely unacceptable in any forum without his permission to do so.  This poster did so under the assumption Larry is even a poster in the comments section.  So many posters are accused of being Larry that even if he had the spare time to be all of them it still wouldn't be enough time!

This really saddens me that somebody would stoop to such a low out of spite and revenge because someone doesn't hold the same values or opinions as the vicious poster.

I found that the best way to notify them is via the link.

That crap was done to me twice there. Both times by the same twerp that used the moniker "Liberal Cowboy". Reported it the first time and the comment was removed and the twerp banned. Cowpie came back on several months later and did it again. I reported it again and comment was deleted and Cowpie was banned again. I have not seen the Cowpie back there again after that.

What story was that comment attached to?

("SpinEmmaBlue?" That's odd...)
»

Curious...

,,,isn't it?
»

Very curious indeed

I'm still trying to figure out what it means.

Obviously, someone from the old days...

...with a grudge against Larry and a muddy take on poster identities.

Even I am getting tired of

Even I am getting tired of hearing my old story concerning this - it was on the weekend, no one was there, I reluctantly accepted that no one was there to manage the fort over the weekend.

So then Monday rolled around, and I clicked the Report Comment again - and hours later the offending passages were still up. So I ended up using my lunch hour to personally go over there - where the d1ckhead tapped-danced while covering his butt with his hands.

Conveniently he wasn't able to ban the user for some "technological reason"

Also, it happened to be in a thread where I was defending the general good character of homeless people at a time when the Olympian was printing anti-homeless editorials.

It's interesting that the

It's interesting that the Comments section of a paper in my hometown in E. Wash. doesn't have this kind of problem, nor does it have near the number of comments, and the ones it does have are not nasty, acrimonious or down right obnoxious, either.  My guess is that it's because the comments are not posted immediately, as they are here and on the O's site.  Instead, the paper runs them through some kind of "post reader-screener" who determines if a comment gets published.  What a concept, huh?

I also saw that post and considered hitting the "Report" button, but I've had the same results as Merwyn every time I've done it before.  Rather than being lazy or apathetic, I think the O just likes to keep the pot stirred, and there are plenty of bad actors online who are happy to do that.

Apparently Somebodies Give A Damn Is Busted

at the O because it's still up...   AL has the link and I think it should be his choice to share it.

I don't think it has

I don't think it has anything to do with whether or not anyone there gives a damn. None of the website administrators at The Olympian work over the weekend. Try to call one of them - you won't get through to anyone. In any case, I think this should serve as a reminder to everyone that you have to be careful about what you post, where you post, and how you post on the Internet. Hello, by the way. I'm new here. I've been a "lurker" since last year. I look forward to contributing to OlyBlog.

Insomnia, thou is my friend...

Thanks Onry, my love.

The thread was for some story about someone wanting Olympia to be a city for refuge from something.  You can see I was real interested.  I've been busy this weekend with four Bowl For Kids Sake events (thanks to Macy's, Target, ProBuild, State workers from Gen Admin and DIS and NTSD Teachers for their efforts).  Oh....I also took time to put my boat in the water for a couple of hours and chatted on AOL in the political chat.

Someone has got it in their head that I'm "Blue" (I'm not, but I've had a beverage or two with him....a great guy)  Also, that I'm "Emma" (my clandestine informants tell me Emma is a man, but I don't believe it.  Meanwhile, come out come out where Emma you are)

The "Spin" part is that I'm being accused of "spinning" my political beliefs (horrified look) can you believe that someone would put their personal take on a poltical issue in The Olympian?????  I thought all those posts were absolutely factual and that Band Member's real name was "Band Member".

Somehow or another, this person seems to think that Big Brothers Big Sisters has nothing to do all day long except answer phone calls from crackpots.  I"m happy to speak to anyone that has a donation, wants to volunteer or other constructive things.  Other than that, I've got stuff to do and when I don't, it's MY TIME.

You'll notice that this person posted at 10:45 PM....well into the "cocktail hour".  No sober responsible person would do such a thing.

I'm listed in the white pages, as is the agency.  The jerk isn't even creative.

Spin is probably...

... for Spinnaker.
»

That's what I was thinking

...
»

Oh...of course....

I hadn't thought about Spinnaker.  Probably because we only agree about half the time.

So, according to this person, I disagree with myself, I have beverages with myself and I'm not sure about my sexuality.

Sounds fair.
