FEMA Dumps Donated Drinking Water

Water, water, everywhere, and not a drop to drink.

Another hurricane is brewing. Fires are burning. Folks along the US-Mexico border still die of dehydration. Any type of disaster could happen at any time. I so don't understand FEMA.

From The Olympian:

A dip in Capitol Lake

For hardy celebrants of all ages, there is the 22nd Polar Bear Swim Club jump into Capitol Lake at 3 p.m. on New Year's Day.

The Polar Blast began in 1985 with three swimmers. The highest turnout for the event was 177 in 1996 when the air temperature was 52 degrees. The coldest swim was in 1995, when 125 swimmers braved air and water temperatures of 35 degrees.

The swim takes place at Capitol Lake near Water Street. For more information, including a slideshow of the event, go to www.experienceolympia.com.
