Be sure to listen to KAOS- FM 89.3 "On Wings of Peace", a Veterans For Peace broadcast at Noon to 1:00 PM (1300 hr) on Friday September 23, 2005.

Those who cannot receive KAOS on their radios can "stream" it from the internet at http://kaos.evergreen.edu/listenlive.html.

You'll learn a lot about military recruitment in our local public schools, and the action and reaction of parents and students to the Pentagon's use of the so-called federal No Child Left Behind Act to collect information on all students. You'll also learn what we, our children and educators can do and are doing about it.

We hope you can tune in!

chunkpI have rescued a dog from a unhealthy situation, and I can not keep her. She is a Black lab/ Pit bull mix. She is a year old. She has never been able to go on walks, eat dog food consitantly, or play with other dogs. She is a sweet heart. Everyday that she is around her personality emerges more. My phone number is (360) 943-9849. My e-mail is wesmat01@evergreen.edu . I would really like to find a good home for her, rather than give her to a shelter. I have attached her picture. Matt West

The Thurston County Young Dems did our endorsements following the forum last night. Here are the results of that process and some thoughts on last night. Also, here are some comprehensive notes on the forum.

Fun was had by all.

downtown

An opinion piece in The Olympian exhorts us to do our part cleaning up downtown. Now the military is involved. Aren't they busy?

A couple of updates to the site:

  • I've created pages specifically for posting about animal exchanges and for finidng a housemate. These seemed like services that folks were needing, so here they are (see picture on the sidebar).
  • All the links are now hosted by del.icio.us. This means that they will include not only those defined by OlyBlog users, but will include any that include the same tags. Thus, anyone can now submit links by associating a site on del.icio.us with the appropriate tags.
