Greetings, folks.  Thanks to Rick McKinnon of Olyblog, we got a few folks up from Olympia to attend the Tahoma Progressive Media Conference on October 7th.

We are very excited about what we're creating, including a website modeled on Olyblog's success for Tacoma and the surrounding area.

We'd love for everyone in Olympia to come check us out and to see what we're up to, and to consider helping us achieve our goal - the total transformation of the media landscape.

You may not be in T-town, but you can still help us out.  We need your help spreading the word, communicating about the exciting things happening in Oly and in Tacoma regarding citizen action and this growing movement of the people, by the people, and for the people, to better their lives and improve their communities.  Olyblog and NMA are just pieces of the puzzle.

As we expand, we will definitely be needing an Olympia branch, and we will be looking for you to make it happen.

Of course, you can always just start it yourselves, and see what happens.  Check out our website to see what we're doing, and if you can convince enough folks to do it in your area, you'll be ahead of the game.

Peace, and don't be a stranger.  The election may come and go, but an informed, educated citizenry will always be just around the corner.  And it's we the citizen media activists who will make that dream a reality.

Anna Politkovskaya, murdered in her Moscow apartment building on 7 October 2006, was one of the few Russian journalists reporting on events in Chechnya. An illustrated article by her on torture there had been due to appear on 9 October in the twice-weekly newspaper Novaya Gazeta. Her killer did not even trouble to hide his face or deactivate the building’s surveillance camera. He has not yet been identified.

So I don't pretend to be a huge sports fan, cause I'm not but once in awhile I like to tune in and pay attention.

With that in mind, let me tell ya, those hawks, NEVER cease to amaze me. I just was watching their game vs. the rams, and they won the game in the last 4 seconds. AMAZING! and this is without Alexander!

And how about those tigers? For as long as I've been alive I swear the tigers have sucked. It's really cool to see underdogs kicking butt in the playoff's and going onto the world series. I'm hoping they get to play the mets.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

P.S.  Perhaps as this evolves we can work out a deal with Last Word or Orca for in-town community supporting purposes and have some sort of book sharing system in place so that folks who couldn't get a copy can read one already floatin' around the Olysphere; but for the time being, if Monsieur Unabonger would be so kind as to post his Amazon link again, I'd be much obliged.
