This is an article at Rolling Stone about congress. It talks a lot about the way that Republicans have changed the daily workings of congress to exclude Democrats and others.
I must say it was quite shocking. Originally, I saw a peice on this on Democracy now so you can get the jist of it there or read this article here
If you know anyone who votes Repulican (I don't) please show it to them.

The work I've done in the past year has convinced me to take time out and ask for some things which help my work. For the past three years, most of these items have come out of my food budget.
» While my clothier does not mind this (losing a size or two helps their bottom line and streamlines my own bottom line as well) I must say that I prefer having regular nutrition which does not involve 'spanging,' 'panhandling,' begging, or shoplifting. Of course, if you decide to shoplift any of these items be sure NOT to tell me about it. Fnord. Airport screeners fail to see most test bombs
»
By Ron Marsico NEWARK, N.J. — Screeners at Newark Liberty International Airport, one of the starting points for the Sept. 11 hijackers, failed 20 of 22 security tests conducted by undercover U.S. agents last week, missing concealed bombs and guns at checkpoints throughout the major air hub's three terminals, according to federal security officials. The tests, conducted Oct. 19 by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents, also revealed failures by screeners to follow standard operating procedures while checking passengers and their baggage for prohibited items, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity. Now, I don't know about you all, but what the hell is going on? George Bush, on the anniversary of the events of 9/11/2001 said that "the country is safer, but not yet safe." He got one thing right at least. I wonder how they would have done before the Dept. of Homeland Security took over everything? First FEMA blows it with Katrina and Rita, now the TSA with this, and this was only a drill. We're DOOOOOOOOMMMEEEDDD!

That's Martin Luther, not MLK Jr.
» A couple of centuries ago Martin Luther got fed up with the doctrines and practice of the catholic church. He probably spouted off quite a few times and got shushed before he got really fed up and wrote his treatise and took it down and nailed it to the door. By the time you nail your treatise to the door you are probably not planning to be coming and going through that door anymore. Well, I am in that mood with regard to Olyblog, so herewith, a virtual nail to a virtual door, and a modest treatise: I went to listen to Amy Goodman last night and it was as inspiring as I had hoped. It was also as disturbing as I feared. The woman is a relentless worker for peace and truth on the planet. The place was packed with people of like mind and spirit. It was really inspiring. May God bless her and keep her for the work she is doing. One of the things she told the crowd last night was that what we do matters. You can see that she truly believes that in the work she does and the life she lives. Amy believes that getting the true story out is critical. And she believes the truth has been suppressed in this country. And that ties into my reasons for saying enough at Olyblog.

I'm not certain how I came across this link, but I did find it amusing. I hope it is not an editorial comment on Olyblog, at least not in a negative way.
