On Saturday, December 16 on Free Radio Olympia at 98.5FM from 4-6pm, we present Alex Jones interviewing Tom Flocco on his story about Rusty Nelson, alleged photographer for a White House child sex ring. Nelson was arrested right after the apparent suicide by Hunter S. Thompson, who had intimate details of this child trafficking group. Jones also talks with former Nebraska state Senator John DeCamp, who discusses the strong evidence of high level government pedophile rings, and, how they tie in with former White House reporter Jeff Gannon. Also featured is Greg Syzmanski from the Investigative Journal interviewing Noreen Gosch of Des Moines, IA and Patricia Johnson-Holm of Lynnwood, WA, whose boys were kidnapped in the 1980's, possibly by the pedophile ring discussed in the first segment of the show. The mothers talk about how the local authorities of their respective cities and the FBI, attempted to suppress the evidence and discredit them.

I'm posting a link to information about hosting alternative shelters. I thought I would put it out for those interested in what actions can be taken directly to alleviate some of the shelter-issues in Olympia. The information is focused towards church and community groups, but individuals may be interested as well, or at least pass the link on to those who are.

» At the forum on Homelessness held last Wednesday, we were charged to continue the 'talk' about issues. It would be lovely to see action happen, too. What the Thinker Thinks, the Prover Proves.

Suzanne Swift's trial is happening at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, 12/13. If you would like to show support for Suzanne at exit 119 at Fort Lewis, and possibly attend the trial (we are hoping this will be possible), a carpool is forming at the downtown Batdorf & Bronson at 8 a.m. Wednesday, 12/13. At this point, we have 8 spaces for passengers. Please meet us at B&B if you would like to participate.
» The main action to support support Suzanne Swift will be WEDNESDAY December 13th at 9am ------------------------- Free Suzanne Swift! Jail the war criminals! Come support Suzanne Swift at her trial tomorrow, Wednesday December 13, 2006, at 9am at Ft. Lewis For more information call Chanan of Iraq Vets Against the War at: 206-724-5975 Army Spc. Suzanne Swift, facing a redeployment to Iraq while serving under the command of the same individuals that allowed her to be raped and sexual harassed during her first deployment in Iraq, suffered a breakdown due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and went Absent With Out Leave (AWOL) rather than subject herself to the horrors she experienced at the hands of her fellow soldiers during her first tour of duty. Suzanne was arrested for refusing to deploy and her court hearing will be tomorrow morning at Ft. Lewis. Suzanne has signed a statement saying what happened to her, and the military wants to do a summary court-martial with her, saying that she missed movement and went AWOL—giving her up to 30 days in confinement. They are also demanding that she then stay in the military until January of 2009. Join Suzanne's mother, Sarah Rich, and her supporters at Ft. Lewis tomorrow to demand justice!

The ink is barely dry on the new pedestrian interference ordinace and already we are seeing proposals of high rise condominiums for downtown Olympia. Does this surprise anyone? I like it that some low cost housing is being proposed, low cost in this sense meaning a studio condominium of less that 500 square feet for a quarter of a million dollars. The deals with the developers will be occurring with blinding speed. The downtown that we know today will just become a fond memory as it is terra-formed into a playground for the wealthy and the corporate interests. It is no wonder that the pedestrian interference ordinance could not be stopped. It is no wonder why we were lied to about its intent. The ultimate gentrification of downtown Olympia was the ultimate goal. I'm just wondering how many of our council people will be getting sweetheart deals on their new condos? The poor will have no place in the downtown of the future, get used to it. This is happening all over our country, it is nothing new, just surprising and disappointing for Olympia. I really expected better of Olympia, she is about to lose her heart.

"I am being forced into a position where I would potentially function as the investigative arm of the military," Olson said. "That is a position that is absolutely antithetical to a free and functioning press. When the press becomes the eyes and ears of the government, then it creates a profound chilling effect for people who may be willing to speak to journalists. The Army's attempt to subpoena journalists in the case of Lieutenant Watada could help to eliminate the voices of dissent, and it sends a message to all members of the military that if you decide to speak about your opposition to the Iraq War we're going to throw the book at you and we're going to do that by using journalists to testify against you."Army Targets Truthout for Subpoenas in Watada Case By Jason Leopold The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press

A new urban life form has recently come to my attention. The leaves of Fall are clogging up the roof gutters of my house, leaving them constantly filled with water during this exceptionally wet season. Recently I noticed some crows and seagulls picking at "things" in my gutters in a very agitated way. So I decided to finally go up and unclog the gutters. As the now-fetid rainwater cascaded down the spout as I removed the rotten leaves, I noticed something odd on the ground. Little silver flopping fish had been pulled down. They were about an inch long and had a surprised expression-- but not half as surprised as me! So check those gutters, fellow rain dwellers. |
