Plastic Easter eggs loaded with obscenities have landed on lawns in Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater.

Police say a neo-Nazi type group spread the eggs and flyers. The containers held obscene images, slurs against homosexuals and slurs against certain minorities.

Damn, this hits home. The right wing assault on the minds of Americans via reactionary (hate) radio has really escalated in the past few years. This story is so relevant. enjoy:

by Bill Berry

The man who does my parents' taxes in Green Bay seemed nice enough. He shook our hands and greeted us with small talk as we sat down to go over papers.

But the acrid sounds coming from a stereo tuner near his ancient desk filled the office like dirty smoke. It was right-wing radio, an angry white man on his afternoon shift. I was amazed that this accountant was taking my parents' money and making us listen to this to boot, but I reminded myself I was there to help them.

On this day, the topic was poor Dick Cheney and how the liberal media wouldn't leave him alone after his little hunting mishap.

Soon the accountant was trying to wrench my 80-year-old mother into this angry world. He asked her if she thought such a trifling matter was grounds for Cheney's resignation. She snapped back, saying that she didn't think the hunting incident merited Cheney's resignation but that there were plenty of other reasons for it. She added that the two men with her felt just as she did. The accountant curled his lip in Cheney-esque fashion and went back to work.

Taken at an undisclosed location on Budd Inlet. If you can enlarge the image of the gentleman in the suit and hat, he looks suspiciously like Rick!

State reps. Williams and Hunt respond to a question about Olympia's action on the brewery' water rights. From The Olympian:

Lisa, Olympia: Can the state help the Olympia obtain water rights at the Tumwater Brewery? Olympia was smart to act as it did. The bottled water company that supposedly bought the property gives every impression of being a scam. The smart thing is to buy the deeply discounted Brewery with its 176 acres of prime real estate, incomparable water rights, wells, pumps and other amenities. Washington state should help bring the parties together. Can you help this process? That water and land needs to be in public hands and not a hostage in some unseen speculator's portfolio.

Williams: The city of Olympia has already helped itself, so I don't know state assistance is necessary. Olympia seems to be pursuing the legal remedies available to it. As to the long-term future of the property, certainly I'd like that to be utilized for family wage jobs.

Moderator: Any concerns the water won't be shared equitably?

Hunt: Obviously we found out about it reading the newspaper like most folks, because Olympia didn't want others to get ahead of them. I think they did the right thing and Olympia leaders have pledged to work with Lacey and Tumwater and that's better than having someone else sell those water rights to someone else. We tried to get Modelo to bottle Corona and Pacifico up here, but that didn't work out. Obviously the ideal thing would be a new brewery there.

It also seems that Olympia has averted a crisis with Tumwater. From the Olympian:

TUMWATER — Swallowing some bitter feelings, Tumwater council members voted Tuesday to study the benefits of merging the Tumwater and Olympia fire departments.

The merger could improve fire services in both cities, officials have said, but the proposal was jeopardized when Olympia officials last week condemned the former Tumwater brewery for its water rights, leaving the neighboring cities feeling left out and betrayed.

Tumwater council members voted 5-2 to pursue a merger despite the hard feelings.

“I’m still appalled that they did what they did, but I still support going forward with this analysis,

Here is one definition that might be helpful for discussion:

National Socialism - National Socialism, a subset of fascism, is a political philosophy that is most notorious for having been the party ideology of Adolf Hitler's Nazis.

National Socialism combined an appeal to workers and the middle classes, radical anti-capitalism (in its movement stage) together with political opportunism, anti-Marxist agitation and violence, and fierce ethnic nationalism, anti-Semitism and racism.

Upon achieving state power, the doctrine of National Socialism has proven to be genocidal, totalitarian and imperialist. National Socialism claims to resolve the contradictions between capital and labor, often through a "third way."
