I am so excited for this show: Welcome The Pasties home from tour 7pm this Sunday at the Midnight Sun. The Pasties have been gone for two weeks bringing their pop-folk punky joy to people all over the West Coast and are eager to rock their hometown. But the fun doesn't stop there, joining them will be touring artists The Underground Railroad to Candyland from San Pedro, CA, (featuring Todd C. of FYP & Toys That Kill fame). Also playing will be local pop punk favorites Shorebirds and K Records recording artists Spider and the Webs (featuring Tobi Vail of Bikini Kill). This will only be Spider and the Webs' third show this year so be sure not to miss it. Actually be sure not to miss it because it will be an awesome show all around. Sunday, October 7th The Underground Railroad To Candyland @ Midnight Sun (113 NW Columbia Street in downtown Oly) 7pm / all-ages / $5 / sunday

http://www.theolympian.com/breakingnews/story/234841.html Story about the woman that was charged in court on the kids football fight. Read the comments about the hand sign she is giving in the picture and then someone please explain why Aaron Mason got upset at Emma, Merwyn or me. At the risk of offending others, I won't copy and paste in Olyblog on this one.

What happens in a minute? In the Iraq war – as in any war -- lives are ended and destroyed, homes are demolished and families are broken within the space of a minute. And, according to a new analysis by the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), the U.S. is spending half a million dollars each minute of the war. In a day, the toll comes to $720 million. The group based its figures, unveiled in “Cost of War” exhibits in major US cities on Sept. 20 and 21, on the work of former World Bank chief economist Joseph E. Stiglitz and Harvard public finance lecturer Linda Bilmes. An Iraq Minute: Calculating the Cost of WarBy Kari Lydersen What happens in a minute? I wonder if this kind of weather is going to be more frequent in the PNW with the changes in climate that are occurring. |
