I am testing to see if my private flickr photos are actually private, and if I can post the ones that I want, even if they are in a private album.

Do you obsessively keep up with current events? Do you jones every time you're away from a computer or newspapers? Do you always carry something to read around with you if you ever get caught having to wait somewhere? If this describes you even a little, you may be a good candidate to be on my public affairs show, No Talking Heads. We keep track of the stories we're following each week and share them with KAOS listeners every Sunday. I'm looking for people, preferably women and people of color, to commit to at least once a month. You're expected to share with me the stories you're following or want to share with listeners that have broken in the past week. The show is Sundays from 5-6pm on KAOS. If you're interested in talking about being involved, I want to meet you. Send me an email at notalkingheads@yahoo.com Thanks! Howard Rosenfeld

From my stately office overlooking 5th and Capitol I bear witness to this year’s “Holiday” parade. First, I must say “what a gorgeous day for a parade.” Glad I had to work today. Otherwise I would have missed it. You’d think someone like me, addicted as I am to hyperlocal news, would have known about it beforehand.
Then just like that, it’s over. Happy holidays folks…and it isn’t even December.

I have some serious reservations about a few of his views (the border wall being the one that stands out the most), but I also agree with the writers of this article, that someone like Paul, in a way, is what this country needs. I agree with Paul on way more things than I disagree with him on, that's for sure. This article is from the Washington Post, Nick Gillespie and Matt Welch are editors at Reason magazine (reason.com). lib•er•tar•ian n.
How to make sense of the Ron Paul revolution? What's behind the improbably successful (so far) presidential campaign of a 72-year-old 10-term Republican congressman from Texas who pines for the gold standard while drawing praise from another relic from the hyperinflationary 1970s, punk-rocker Johnny Rotten? Now with about 5 percent (and climbing) support in polls of likely Republican voters, Paul set a one-day GOP record by raising $4.3 million on the Internet from 38,000 donors on Nov. 5 -- Guy Fawkes Day, the commemoration of a British anarchist who plotted to blow up Parliament and kill King James I in 1605. Paul's campaign, which is three-quarters of the way to its goal of raising "$12 Million to Win" by Dec. 31, didn't even organize the fundraiser -- an independent-minded supporter did.

I work as a professional assignment and stock photographer, industrial archaeologist, and author. My main archaeology interests are railroads and bridges. The stock and assignment photographs capture both the natural and built environments. Larry Mishkar of Olympia keeps a blog well worth visiting. Currently up is a post with photos of a new green building here in town. Comments are enabled on his blog for conversation. |
