I know what I say here will mean very litle but TJ is the only one that ever came to my door and asked me what I thought about anything! And I was born and raised here, 53 years ago. I was taught that people we elect went to the body that they were elected to to pass on my (our) ideas. Not thier own, but the idea/opinion that the folks that elected them voiced. Who gives a spit about what the person thinks? The only job of the elected person is to voice/vote the opinion of the folks one represents. Not the ideals of the representative him/herselfe. Why is this idea so hard for political people to understand?

We don't vote for you to do what you want to do, we vote for you to do what we want you to do. What part of this idea don't you understand? You are to represent us! Not You! I like to think there is no grey area here. Yet it seems that the realality is just the opposite. Vote for me and I'll do as I please, you just got me elected!

A funny thing is that now they (city council) gets more cash for a part time job than lots of folks make for really working!

I know, I know, it seems right now as if everyone is looking for donations toward one worthy cause or another. Bread and Roses, the Salvation Army, the list goes on and on as we work toward ensuring a warm bed and a hot meal for those in the community who are homeless and/or hungry.

So, this is a warning. I am adding to that list. With temperatures dropping and snow(!) maybe on the way the 24 residents of Camp Quixote (men and women) have four particular items on their wish list: sleeping pads or air mattresses of some kind; waterproof coats; gloves; and long underwear. These can be of any size and color, used or new. Donations may be taken to the Camp, which is located in a large, grassy area behind First United Methodist Church, on Legion Way and Boundary Street in East Olympia.

And a tip of the hat to all of you in the community who have given generously to the camp in one way or another over the past 10 months. Thanks to all of you, we've come a long way in building community support and acceptance since that cold February night when the camp first formed in downtown Olympia.

Alright!

let me get back to all of you: The radio promo idea is a good one. I also got radio station upstairs of my store. I'll look into that - thanks.

To the question, of what I sell in my store. This is my website with cool pictures and description in detail of our suppliers.

We specialize in Modern European lifetsyle products for the home, the kitchen and for the road. Some of the brands we carry: SIGG, FREITAG, WMF, ASA. Some of our products we import ourselves, you won't find them anywhere else in the US probably. Some of the products we carry, because we love their modern, fresh approach that combines form and function - hey there is such a thing.

I heard that the space had been occupied by Bread & Roses before and after that a "interesting" Art Gallery. We love the space so come on by and take a look around - it's worth it. Thanks again.

I don't really want to get into a new discussion about the port protests, but I thought this was worth sharing.

For your reference, Robin L. "Buck" Torske lost in the 2005 primary for the seat on the council that Jeff Kingsbury now holds.

The entire meeting is available here to view and here to download.

All invited!

After so much encouraging feetback - I'm doing it.

12/07/07 from 5pm-9pm einmaleins will be open for Experience Downtown at Night.

We'll be serving Christmas Cookies and Cider and have a few surprises in store.

I'll connect with a few stores Downtown and let them know as well.

It'll be a start - don't compare it to the big ArtsWalk, that happens twice a year.

But we'll have fun, if there any Artists here, who would love to show their art, play music or anything else come by the store and we arrange something - it'll be fun!

Twelve police vehicles from four different local police agencies descended upon Evergreen Park Ct, (Near the Courthouse off Evergreen Park Dr) with tracking dogs, private EMT, and Olympia Fire Department response.

KIRO Reporters, and Olympian Photographer were on scene. Officer Stevens, shortly after ordering me "back into my home" (I did not comply, as I did not leave my home until the man was in cuffs, which I could observe from my bedroom window), approached the Olympian Photographer, and volunteered to "give him the complete story". The reporter had not yet showed, however, so the officer walked away to talk with Detectives from the Tumwater PD, (where we were told the pursuit was started.)

Dingo even got quoted in the Breaking Olympian Online shortly after the arrest.

The puppeteers, Yuqin Wang and Zhengli Xu, won numerous national awards, including the prestigious US National Heritage Fellowship.

Chinese puppetry has more than one thousand years of recorded history. It began as a cultural ritual and became a form of entertainment for both the royal family and the public. Over the years, it has developed to combine artistic expression with detailed handcraft, traditional Chinese opera movements and music, beautifully engineered mechanical puppet parts, and Western technology.

This is a co-production of SPSCC and Evergreen Silk Roads.

Reuters Nov 26, 2007

NEW YORK—Thirteen of 19 big corporate Olympic sponsors have flunked a test challenging them to pressure China over the 2008 Olympic Games host's support of Sudan, a U.S. advocacy group said Monday.

General Electric won the best grade of C-plus, largely for making contact with the International Olympic Committee to raise concerns regarding Sudan's war-ravaged Darfur region, the group Dream for Darfur said.

None of the companies reported making a direct plea to Chinese officials, said the group, which spent 16 weeks from May to October surveying the sponsors.

Dream for Darfur said it graded them on whether they took steps to influence or contact China or the International Olympic Committee, donated aid to Darfur or appointed a point person on Darfur, among other criteria.

During a meeting yesterday, I mentioned Olyblog.  I got a rather sour look from one of the other people in the meeting, so I asked why.

The response was that "Olyblog has been taken over by the port protestors".

As I look at the recent posts in Olyblog, I don't see a whole lot about the protests.  I do see the daily Rant of the Right in The Olympian - latest is trying to attack people in the area of their employment (can you imagine that???) because of their viewpoint, when neither item is related to the other.
