Port Militarization Resistance (PMR) has launched a campaign to end our community’s participation in the illegal occupation of Iraq by stopping the US military’s use of the Port of Olympia.
» The campaign is multi-faceted and will include efforts to dissuade the Army from attempting to use the Port of Olympia through public education, communication with public officials, and ultimately, if necessary, nonviolent civil disobedience to block military convoys' access to the Port of Olympia. It is possible that Ft. Lewis will mobilize a Stryker Brigade in April. The Stryker vehicles and other equipment will be shipped in advance of the personnel. This means convoys could be moving within the next month. It isn't known at this time whether the Army plans to use the Port of Olympia. Why is PMR embarking on this campaign?

Some very good news for the campers. Also, two members of the PPU's street contingency have been invited to be a part of the Interjurisdictional Forum on Homelessness. This is a big step toward our goal of more involvment in the decisions that affect our lives as poor people. Venice Buhain
