Our fellow OlyBloggers, we would like to apologize for the delay in posting our advice. We are currently suffering posting issues and will have it posted as soon as we've figured out what's wrong (we've narrowed it down to the problem being on our end of the equation!).

I maintain our Oly Bloglines and throughly enjoy keeping tabs on local blogging. There are a zillion ways I can organize periodic reports, today my organizing principle is the top 3 recent local blog posts on my mind.
» *** Time Moves on, But Treaties Remain by Billy Frank, Jr. on Being FrankThe Treaty Tree may have fallen, but the treaties are alive. Treaties are legal contracts between tribal and federal governments, and they are as valid today as the day they were signed. Even the U.S. Constitution defines them as “the supreme law of the land.” I Hate Katie Couric by Jane Johnson on seajane She's an idiot and her questions last night to John and Elizabeth Edwards were inane. Baby Steps by Allie D. on Memoirs of a Gouda I was bordering on terrified. In fact, my panic was like a white little rat clawing away frantically inside a cardboard box right near my solar plexus, and soon that box was going to give way, and that white rat was going to rip my guts into ribbons.

Apr 26 2007 - 8:00pm [via omjp] South Sound residents who are interested in seeing the one-woman production "My Name is Rachel Corrie" won't have to travel to Seattle to see the play. The Evergreen State College has announced that Seattle Repertory Theatre - which is putting on the play at its theater at the Seattle Center - will bring its production to campus for five shows April 26-29. Corrie was a student at Evergreen before her death in 2003. The first show, a tech dress preview, will be at 8 p.m. April 26. Evergreen students will be admitted free, on a first-come, first-served basis. The remaining shows will be open to the general public. They are at 8 p.m. April 27 and 28, and at 2 p.m. April 28 and 29. Tickets are $30 for general admission and $20 for students and seniors. They will go on sale at noon April 2 at the Evergreen box office and bookstore, as well as at Rainy Day Records in downtown Olympia. A block of tickets will be sold at www.buyolympia.com. The phone number for the box office is 360-867-6833; box office hours are noon to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Hey, I haven't been down that way in awhile and I'm leaving the country on Wednesday and am a little nervous about never coming back. Anyone up for the broho (or wherever) tonight? I'd hate to go down in a plane and realize that I hadn't said "goodbye" to a whole lot of people that I admire. Norm

D. R. Horton is the large corporate builder of the housing development "Bay Hill" on Mud Bay Rd. Across Mud Bay Rd they have cleared a large stand of woods for "Woodbury Crossing". Near the train station they are building "Horizon Point". They also have built "Amhurst" which I'm not familiar with. Locally at least, D R Horton appears to build very large homes on very small lots.
» FYI, Here is a short article on D R Horton Here is the D R Horton website Here is a D R Horton comment form for those who may wish to provide corporate headquarters with feedback on their developments (docent edit: this post has been visited by the link fairy)
