By Wednesday night, Mrs Anonymously Larry and I will be in our 24 foot rolling condo on wheels in beautiful Ocean Shores, Washington. I shall grace the golf course on Thursday (or should grace shine on me). We plan on taking the ferry to Westport for a little tourist action and the rest of the time spent relaxing, beach walking and eating at a couple of favorite restaurants. While I'm gone, I'm leaving JstPlnOnry in charge of The Olympian Undercover column and give Yoda permission to post something in my name in the Olympian, just to keep hearts pumping. Play nice, everyone! Maybe I'll return with a tale of two cities (Ocean Shores and Westport)

Jeremy Pawloski The Olympian A State Patrol trooper shot and killed a man who fled from the trooper Monday during a high-speed chase that started on U.S. Highway 101 near Little Creek Casino and ended in the Steamboat Island area, according to State Patrol. Read more here Kudos to Janet for bringing this to my attention, I don't check the daily O very often anymore. This was posted in another thread but I'm thinking it deserves it's own at this point. As always, I do not recommend reading the haloscan comments, you have been warned :) Norm

Sep 21 2007 - 6:00am Sep 23 2007 - 4:00pm Monticello (Longview) to Olympia Over 130 years ago, the last stagecoach rumbled out of Monticello (now Longview) at the mouth of the Cowlitz River northward to Olympia, the capitol of Washington Territory. This "main line" carried mail, passengers and freight from 1853 to 1873, when the stage was made obsolete by the new Northern Pacific rail line through southwest Washington. Join us this September as a custom-made reproduction of an Abbott-Downing coach will be pulled over the 90-mile route. Traveling over the original road as much as possible, the stage will stop approximately every ten miles to change horses. On each leg of the trip, paying passengers will enjoy the company of living history performers, who will portray characters from the past. At each stage stop, local non-profit groups will offer food, entertainment, souvenirs, and informative talks about stagecoach days. Watch the horse teams being changed, listen to re-enactors in period attire tell tales of the 1800s, and participate in a once-in-a-lifetime event. At our overnight stops, enjoy dinner or breakfast with the stage crew and history performers, as you stroll through a tent city or military encampment.
