Now this is something that I can sink my teeth into! The Church of Euthanasia is part of the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement. Note the word "Voluntary" because it's very important in this context.

"The Four Pillars:
suicide · abortion
cannibalism · sodomy"

Sometimes you can combine some of them, like in this article (which is an attempt at absurdism at its finest....wait, the site and this particularly Olyblog entry are that....the article is real...this is my disclaimer):

Attention Euthanasists! I have some URGENT NEWS, thanks to our friend Karin Spaink , who intercepted the following article in one of her news groups:

Chinese trade in human fetuses for consumption is uncovered

By Yojana Sharma in Hong Kong and Graham Hutchings in Beijing

ABORTED human fetuses intended for human consumption are being sold for as little as =A31 in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, according to reports in Hong Kong yesterday.

The Eastern Express newspaper said journalists from its sister publication, Eastweek, had gone to Shenzhen, across the border from Hong Kong, to see if fetuses were being sold. Shenzhen hospitals carried out 7,000 terminations last year, including a number on Hong Kong women seeking cheap abortions.

At the state-run Shenzhen Health Centre for Women and Children, a female doctor was asked for a fetus. The next day, she handed the reporter a "fist-sized glass bottle stuffed with thumb-sized fetuses".

I'm making some moves on the music part of my life.  Although I truly love my regular partners, we are spread out all over the Puget Sound, which can make things a bit difficult at times.  I'm searching for some local talent to support my front act.

For those that haven't heard me, go to www.homestead.com/larryhillmusic and you'll find five pages on my website, each with a full length song from a live CD recorded a few summers ago.  Not much has changed since then. I'm trying to find players that can compliment this style.

I'm looking for a guitarist, percussionist and a bass player, in that order of importance.  I'm taking most of October off, but have gigs lined up for November and December that might require some help from new players, so they have to be able to comp parts on the fly.

If anyone knows musicians of this type, I can be emailed at LarryHillMusic@comcast.net

Thanks in advance and enjoy the tunes!

So I pick up a pack of gum while shopping the other day. I'm sitting here at work, pop a piece in my mouth and almost instantly get a headache. So the headache hung around and I thought, "Hmm, maybe it's the gum?" read the ingredients and there's all kind of substitute sweeteners in it...lovely. I had to stop drinking diet soda (at least as often as I was) because I kept getting this weird earache...which miraculously went away when I stopped drinking diet coke. So now I try not to drink it often, and I try to stick with splenda versions of sugar-free.

Anyone else had similar problems?

My mother and grandparents lived in the Swabian village of Gunzburg, Germany during the war. Opa locked the doors of the guest worker dormitory at night before walking to Die Rose to drink his beer. Oma cooked for them, the Czechs and Poles who slaved at the factory owned by Karl Mengele, Josef’s father. Firma Karl Mengele & Sohne continues to supply the world with farm equipment today.

Oma and opa were law-abiding, hard working, good Catholics who, like everyone else in that little town, knew not to ask questions or say the wrong thing to the wrong person. No one could ever accuse them of hating their country. So in little Gunzburg, “evil incarnate” was able to flourish.

Update: Today the New York Times posted a slide show that touches on the banality of evil theme and includes an appearance by Josef M., favorite son of Gunzburg.
