This coming Thursday, January 31st from 6 - 9PM the Port Commissioners will be having a meeting at St. Martin's Pavilion. This is a huge meeting and a huge step to saving Millersylvania State Park. The more people who are at this meeting the more the Port and the Legislators will know we mean business.

I think the thread on HB 6860 has gotten way off topic. I'm partly to blame for that, so here is a nice open thread for any of the side subjects that came up, or just to discuss fluffy kity cats and daisies....

Looks like there are a couple of Senators who understand that disarming students and facilty does not make a campus safer, and only infringes on constitutionally protected rights. http://apps.leg.wa.gov/billinfo/summary.aspx?bill=6860&year=2008

These are distributed by Kimber USA who make some excellent 1911a1 model .45's. I carry their Guardian Angel product, in addition to my Ruger model P89T. The model pictured below, the JPX protector looks like a great product to keep in a car, or carry on your person if you are expecting trouble that a Guardian Angel can't handle, but still doesn't justify using your primary weapon. Personally I would buy one in orange instead of black just to make sure it isn't confused with a firearm... I should add that I used to carry a pepper spray device that looks like a pen. First time I was stopped for open carrying I had it in my backpack, where it would have done me little good. After being disarmed though and not having a handy place to reload I realized I need to keep my non lethal defense option handier, and I bought a Guardian Angel and keep it much more accessible. So one good thing from being disarmed by OPD twice is I have become a little more proactive in having alternative defense means handier. I always carry a non lethal device with me, but got a little lax open carrying, figuring the visible weapon would act as a deterant. Anyway, thought some here would appreciate seeing a couple of good non lethal pepper spray defense products.

In case anybody in Olympia is interested in networking on a global scale with those of an improvisational disposition.

Do advisory role(s) exist for the citizenry of Olympia on the topic of traffic design? I'm looking for a "vehicle" for citizen input on traffic design in Olympia, and a way to create citizen-directed transportation studies. Any thoughts?
