For those who will appreciate it... Picked up a 1943 production Russian Mosin Nagant 91/30 at Big 5. Pretty cool to hold a battle rifle from WWII. Has a big ol' spike bayonet from 1938 with it too. Also swapped for a side by side 12 gauge shotgun. Zombies beware! :-) If the buckshot don't do the trick, I can skewer the undead with the 91/30! Dang thing is like a spear... www.mosinnagant.net

Hopefully this storm won't be too bad. Saw lightning last night as I was crossing the bay in my dinghy, that was kewl. Picked up a few extra odds and ends on the off chance the storm gets nasty, which is a sure fire way to ensure everything fizzles. I'm well equiped, but only buy "extras" when I see a storm coming, which only happens when I would rather spend my money on other stuff, ensuring I spent money on stuff I couldn't afford and don't need :-) So my wallet and preparation habits says nothing bad. So now of course I just jinxed everything :-) Sorry!

After I wrote the Salsa So Cheap I made some nachos. Then we went to pick Trish up. I asked if she wanted nachos. She said, "Yes, but we need to get some different salsa. I hate that kind you got." "Well, we have to stop for toilet paper anyway." "And bread," she said. So we stopped at Safeway.

Almost every week this is the "What's on the city council's plate this week" review. I don't cover everything, so if you want the full rundown, read the packet and agenda yourself. Basically what they're doing this week is appointing a new city councilmember. If you want to hear all of the applicants, go to the Monday meeting. If you want to see who they appoint, go to the Tuesday meeting. Here's the schedule for the Monday interviews:
On Tuesday, the council will use reason "h" of RCW 42.30.100 to go into executive session before coming back out into the public to vote on their choice: (h) To evaluate the qualifications of a candidate for appointment to elective office. However, any interview of such candidate and final action appointing a candidate to elective office shall be in a meeting open to the public; In case you missed it, here's my rundown of all of the applicants. And, don't miss your chance to vote for your favorite applicant here. Voting closes on Monday!
