After many years of meaning-to, I finally went to a meeting of the Evergreen Juggling Club!On Thursday Trish had an out-call, way down Cooper Point, so she dropped Orion and I off at Red Square. On route to the library building we spied someone with a bag of clubs. I asked where and when they were meeting. 6 pm on the grass. We walked staircases and rode elevators until then. We walked down to the 1st floor of the library and took the elevator to the 4th, 3rd and 2nd floors. We walked down to the 1st floor of the library and took the elevator to the basement and 2nd floors, then we walked up to the 3rd floor and back down again. We saw Uncle Luke and his partial roommate Duckhugger. We ate veggie chicken nuggets with goddess dressing, salad (without a fork) with goddess dressing, grapes (a la carte), and saved the rice cakes for later. Then we joined the jugglers already in progress. Although we tried various equipment (diablo, devil sticks, balls, clubs, cigar boxes, etc), we spent the majority of the 90 minutes with five brightly colored rings. I'm so getting rings in the act. Oh, man. There were about a dozen jugglers there, and they will apparently organize into some sort of 'circus' on Super Saturday. Our plan is for Trish to massage in the morning, and Jusby to appear in the afternoon. Hope I have my cards ready by then.

It's been a year now since our ill-fated trip to the Sasquatch Festival at the Gorge. I once had a dream of seeing Bjork live in concert. I wrote it on my life list along with Visit Pyramids and Walk on Coals.Trish had a sudden influx of cash flow and asked if wanted to go. I got very excited. Not only was Bjork headlining but also playing that day would be The Blow and Mirah. Since I was still putting together the music for Dance O' Dance I investigated all the other bands and downloaded tracks by The Arcade Fire, Ghostland Observatory, M.I.A., the Hold Steady, and Electrelane. I was such a indie hipster. Although it was an all ages show we asked if Oma Barbara would watch Orion, but she had a wine-tasting to attend. He hadn't done any overnights away from us, so we decided to bring him along. Big Mistake. After driving all day... We were stuck for hours and hours behind a three car fatal collision... we stopped at the last outpost of civilization for supplies and let Orion eat a corn dog and chocolate ice cream. Bigger Mistake. By the time we set up camp and arrived at the venue we had missed Mirah and the Blow. M.I.A. had to cancel due to visa troubles. We staked out a spot on the hill and saw the Long Winters, but then Orion started to complain of stomach pains. Trish took him to the bathroom and got water... then eventually the medical tent... then eventually decided she would take him to the tent and come back for me after Bjork, making the ultimate sacrifice for her child. Since she volunteered, I agreed. Biggest Mistake. She called me by the time she'd reached the gate. He had vomited twice and professional advice (Sasquatch staff) was to take him to the hospital.

I'm renewing my City of Tumwater Master Business License today. My UBI 602 613 501 001 0001 Jusby the Clown and Comedy Consultant not to be confused with Justbe, Juzbee, OR Just-B My only disappointment with the WA DOL is that I don't get a nice laminated ID card for my $29, since I'm sure I could look happier than I do on my driver's license - which expired on my birthday after 4 years. Well, it's worth it to get mail addressed to Jusby the Clown and Comedy Con.

Somehow, I wrote a blog post on my site that captured a bit of everything. I figure that in some ways, everyone can relate, and in some ways, everyone may be offended. :: shrug :: It is what it is.

I can't believe my eyes! The PBIA spent $15,000 on 120 flower pots? Please tell me this is a typo! Do the math! That's $120 per pot of petunias? Get real, these are plastic pots with flowers, or at least the one in the front page photo is. Please let me have the job of preparing these pots for the city. I could do it for half that price and still make a killing.

Didn't I read somewhere recently that there are no current plans to construct housing downtown? Someone had better let the City Council know, because they are running around doing foolish things like getting rid of alleys, all because of this hare-brained fantasy that there will be housing built downtown. And local business owners are up in arms, fearing their customers won't have a place to park when housing construction consumes what are now city-owned parking lots. They'd probably feel a lot better if they knew that this housing project is not actually planned. We all know the City Council cares deeply about parking and downtown businesses, and would never sell us out to developers!
