The attached image was known locally at least 20 years ago as the "Asshole Hat." I don't know why. Feel free to deconstruct.

Given your occupation, I bow to your experience. Those look like they have steel toes. However, I doubt your asshole boot-wearer would be caught dead wearing the headgear of my asshole hat-wearer. I suspect we are talking about two different types of assholes here. Yours, I am betting, performs flagrant and open actions in defiance of the law. Mine is law-abiding but still lacks or ignores the laws of social graces out of pure selfishness. Of course, there remains the cross-classification of whether they are "total or complete" assholes.
