Bigelow Neighborhood Edible Forest Garden Work Party

There is another Edible Forest Garden Work Party on Friday June 13th at the Purple house on 1417 Mitchell Ave NE, 98506 - on the same block and right next to Bigelow park.
We will be there from 10am to 3pm with a potluck lunch around noon.

Neighbors and Community members are invited to help plant fruit and nut trees and berry bushes then sheet mulch the lawn by putting down cardboard and wood chips to remove the grass. Edible Forest Gardens consist of three main layers, with fruit and nut trees as the upper canopy, berries and other edible bushes as the middle layer and perennial vegetables and fruits as the ground cover. Come and learn how you too could turn your yard into an Edible Forest Garden.

The work party includes:
~Design and layout of trees and shrubs in an edible forest garden
~Planting trees and shrubs
~Sheet Mulching lawn
~Mushroom Inoculation
