So I am heading East on my bicycle, approaching the intersection of Lily and Martin Way earlier tonight. Right before the driveway for the gas station there (I think it's a seven eleven) on the SW corner, a silver small SUV passes me and then slows down quickly and enters the driveway. So I yell something like "Hello! Watch it!" The driver rolls down her window and says, "what?" So I tell her, "you cut me off." She say's, "Shutup retard, watch where you're going!"

That was a mean thing to say! Cut someone off and then tell him he's retarded. What's up with that?

Some people

Either do not know the rules of the road, or assume anyone who gets in their way is in the wrong.

I get that sailing sometimes too.

some people! Life would be so much better if people weren't rude and mean like that.

And I thought people on blogs were rude...

almost called the cops

I almost reached into my pocket for my phone and called the cops. In fact there was a squad car at the intersection heading the opposite direction. I considered flagging him down. But I would have been late to where I was going and I was glad that I wasn't late. So I am glad that I didn't make a fuss about it. But if would have been nice to see that driver get a talking to by our local law enforcement. I was mad. Really, it would be nice if she learned to be nicer when out driving and that it is not okay to cut people off.

Bad intersection!

I'm glad you didn't end up doing an endo over the SUV. For some reason this intersection is notorious (imo) for running red lights, not paying attention, speeding, and changing lanes with no regard for others. It could be because I work near it though. I've seen a couple of pedestrians that I felt bad for...and a bicyclist run a VERY red light too. Very gutsy fella. I'm happy you weren't hurt though, and sorry that you had a name yelled at you.
