Bix to speak, Danny Kelly to perform at Th., Dec 2nd Plowshares Benefit

Countdown to Nuclear Resisters Trial

Here in Olympia, a  Benefit to Support the Disarm Now Plowshares 5 is happening Thursday, December 2nd at 7 PM in Olympia at Traditions Cafe, (located at 5th & Water Streets in downtown Olympia).  Radical Tacoma Jesuit Bill "Bix" Bichsel will speak about Nuclear Disarmament, and his life commitment to peace work through direct action.  Social Justice/Singer-songwriter  Danny Kelly will perform.

Danny Kelly. Danny, originally from New York, now living in Olympia,  has been writing and performing songs for over 30 years. His songs speak to the strength of the peace movement and of the love that motivates us, he is neither afraid to call out our government for its lies, or sing a simple prayer for recovery and unity.

Ten dollar suggested donation accepted to support the trial of the Catholic Worker Plowshares Activists. All are welcome, no one turned away.  Bring what you can; good will, a clear hart, a feisty head and any spare dollars you can spare.

The Five Disarm Now, Plowshares trial is scheduled in Tacoma at the Federal Courthouse (1717 Pacific, Old Union Station) beginning Tuesday Dec. 7th, trial is expected to continue through Thursday. The Feds are set to imprisson the elderly activists   - a nun, two  radical priests and two catholic workers - just in time for X-mas. Their crime? Praying for the abolution of nuclear weapons on a nuke base.  For a full list of events during the week of trial, including a talk by Ret. Col. Ann Wright on the night of Dec. 7th  in Tacoma on about the action itself, visit:
