Here is a starter from the good ol MRSC:
» Specifically, Article VIII, Section 7 of the Washington State Constitution provides "No county, city, town or other municipal corporation shall hereafter give any money, property, or loan its money, or credit to or in aid of any individual, association, company or corporation, except for the necessary support of the poor and infirm." Well, that is a start-- could we declare unconditionally that animals are at least defined (in a legal sense) as "poor" in that animals have no money/capital?

Submitted by Norm on Wed, 02/28/2007 - 7:41pm.I understand your reasoning, but maybe you have a better suggestion? Maybe it doesn't have to be outside and in the open.
Are state/national parks ever sued for campers that are hurt or die while sleeping in the park?
nope, this is the best bet--

I was actually responding to Mr. Hall
My suggestions? I think camp quixote has the right idea. It would be nice if they could have a more permanent site. I'm not sure how this would get accomplished, but it would be nice. I think having a central community living-space is great, a structure where everyone can get together and eat, cook, talk, whatever. Kind of like a day-room in college dorms I suppose.
Ideally, at least in my noggin, having a kind of quasi-campground near the main facility would be good. I think it may invite other people to come and socialize. Plus, with the summers we've been having, I think there needs to be a dedicated campfire/firepit and grill. lol what do ya think?
that does work--

Submitted by Mike on Thu, 03/01/2007 - 4:13pm.Anyone can sue or be sued for almost anything. So a person could sue, but you have to prove proximate cause, duty and responsibility etc. Can't set up your world to avoid suits, makes more sense to be concerned with your liability.
I am suggesting the correct question is "would the city be liable" in the circumstances you describe. Seems that that proximate cause of damages is the person who robs or attacks. Circumstances would be different if the attack were reported and the city did not send a patrol car, that breach of a duty, an intervening cause contributing to damage.
None of this to be construed as legal advice, simply ruminating on civil (and uncivil) actions.
I wondered whether building

Submitted by Scott Haley on Fri, 03/09/2007 - 3:16am.Can you post a picture of your solar sewing machine? I've never heard of such a thing. It must take a good sized group of solar cells to keep that motor going.
