from an e-mail AP CHINESE WORKSHOP The goal of this workshop is to provide an overview of the establishment of the AP Chinese course and exam. It will introduce school administrators and Mandarin Chinese language teachers to the AP Chinese language and culture course development process, components and specifications of the AP Chinese exam, and the possible impact that the AP Chinese course and exam may bring to K-12 and college curricula. The workshop will also provide information on what curricular support and strategies K-12 teachers may need to begin their AP Chinese language and culture program, and how teachers can find appropriate resources for professional development. Lunch and clock hours will also be provided free of charge. Co-sponsored by the East Asia Center, the Department of Asian Languages & Literature, and the East Asia Resource Center at the University of Washington. Diane Atkinson
