Ignorant Movie Review:  Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme

Response to title:  Hopumentary? I hope. I'd both like to learn more about Hip-Hop and listen to some verbal stylings.

Response to curbside poster:  Nice design. Flashy and evocative of a movement.

Response post-credits:  What an excellent documentary this is. The film doesn't leave those ignorant about Hip-Hop behind, and yet doesn't educate at the expense of the well versed fan. Spanning over 30 years as a distinct artistic style now, Hip-Hop has resuscitated poetry beyond Beat's wildest imaginations, been vanguard to Graffiti's rise as a recognized visual art form, revolutionized modern music and continues to thrive as an underground discipline. This film serves to both historically document the nascence and development of an art as well as to reach out to everyone still reluctant to embrace Hip-Hop as Art. I think it accomplishes both, and manages to catch moments of human genius on camera.
I recommend this film to everyone.

Rating:  4.360 out of 5 Oly Stubbies.

Film Haiku:  By the rhymed word guile
                 "everything is a freestyle."
