I've been poking around with the Google Calendar application along with tumbling around a few ideas about how to best organize events. Over the next several weeks I'll be experimenting with making Olympia area events discussed on OlyBlog an easy addition to your own Google calendar. For those of you who use online calendars aside from Google, my apologies for not supporting everything right away. This is, and will be, a process. One Community Calendar?

I will say a word for establishing and supporting a primary community calendar for scheduling events and maximizing the progressive community's ability to coordinate.  In that regard, I do believe the the TC Pro-Net's calendar might be considered.  My business recently paid the dues to become part of TC Pro-Net.

I am really stretched thin these days and don't have time to look at the google calendar option.  And I appreciate anyone who has time to explore the options.  But all that said, I do hope the progressive community will organize around a primary community calendar in the near future.

community calendar stuff

I do hope the progressive community will organize around a primary community calendar in the near future.

Organizing around a single calendar in order to maximize coordinated responses is, I agree, desirable for the community. The Google Calendar option that I'm adding buttons for is for addressing some individual calendars. The buttons will, if clicked and saved, add a specific event to an individual's online calendar. As I get it systematized I'd like to add more online calendars to the OlyBlog events milieu so that people who use other personal calendars are addressed as well.
