So I've read what other people on OlyBlog have written. I've read the Olympian. I've exchanged a few e-mails with some of our City Councilmen. And I've been letting it all stew in my gray matter. So here're my thoughts on working within the community to counter the negative publicity of downtown Olympia:

OlyBlog.net OlyBlog is devoted to hyperlocal news and discussion specifically about Olympia, Washington. Contributors to OlyBlog are citizen journalists who care about their community and are tired of corporate media. If you'd like to contribute, please register for an account. Here is a list of local news beats that need to be covered. You can post your news as a personal blog entry, and it will be reviewed (and possibly edited) for promotion to the front page. I think the solo street cleaner right now is pretty inefficient, on multiple fronts. I'd like to see a local currency thrive. Big time.

All are must-reads if you're working on local econ-devo.
