Tonight I went to Fertile Ground for the Living Local workshop about developing a "local community renaissance." It was fantastic and I recommend anyone interested and available attend next Wednesday. There are two things in particular which I would like to share with the OlyBlogging contingent of the Olympia community. 1) Susie Kyle, a local farmer & activist, provided a brief overview of the Western Washington Farm Bank Project. They're working toward the creation of a community managed distribution center with a restaurant serving our locally produced food. How cool is that, and how good would this be for the community? 2) I got a chance to speak with Gail Sulivan during the Potluck about the Sound Hours . Gail informed me about the phoenix that is the Sound Hours. It's being worked on, and I encourage every OlyBlogger concerned with the development of local community to get involved with its development and implementation.
