enpen: Which technique/trick do you find yourself using the most in your art (e.g. horizon line, cross-hatch, etc.)?

Matthew: If I were to tell you the most useful trick in my arsenal, it would no longer by a trick. Therefore destroying the entire experience of visual art for the viewer...

Pangea Day in Olympia?



On Saturday May 10 @ 11am Olympia Standard Time Pangea Day commences. According to the website currently the closest location showing the films is Lacy. OFS would be a perfect spot for this...

Ollie Johnston

With the upcoming Olympia Comics Festival I thought this may have more relevance on the hyperlocal front:

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The last of Walt Disney's original team of animators, known as the Nine Old Men, has died at the age of 95, a Walt Disney Co spokesman said on Tuesday.

Ollie Johnston worked for Disney for 43 years, drawing characters for animated Mickey Mouse short films before contributing to such classics such as "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," "Pinocchio," "Peter Pan" and "The Jungle Book."

Johnston died of natural causes in a long-term care facility in Sequim, Washington on Monday.
