chad360 (aka "my" Chad) noticed a bike cop riding on the grass today at Sylvester Park. He came up and complained about it. (Because it's not good for the grass!) She told him that they have the right to do anything they want. Can that possibly be true?

Submitted by OlyCop on Mon, 07/03/2006 - 10:08am.For the record, it is perfectly legal to ride your bike on the sidewalks or the streets in downtown or elsewhere in the City. Just remember if you are on the sidewalk, pedestrian laws apply to you and if you are in the street, the rules of the road apply to you.

Submitted by epersonae on Mon, 07/03/2006 - 10:37am....and this is really annoying: I swear I'd read somewhere (brochure? pamphlet? online?) that the "central business district" was the one location where riding on the sidewalk was disallowed.
I try to keep very much aware of the bicycle laws, and beyond that, how to be safe and polite as a cyclist. (since I ride almost everywhere!)
