The linden trees lining the street next to my work building have started to bloom, filling the neighborhood with their deliciously sweet scent.

Linden Tree
The linden, also known as the lime or basswood tree, is famous in central Europe, where it appears in legends and poetry.

If only there were some way to send you the scent. Instead, I’ll show you a map with a few locations I’ve noticed over the last few weeks.

Scent casting...

surely this technology has to be on it's way....

You know what I love the

You know what I love the scent of? Russian olives blooming. It happens for about a week at the beginning of summer. There are hundreds of them in St. Paul/Minneapolis, and a few in Ellensburg. I haven't seen any here, but I thought I caught a whiff of one a month or so ago...
A homeless guy at the hostel in Minneapolis gave me a recipe for making perfume out of them, and I gave him a pair of jeans to wear to work. I would feel a little sneaky capturing the scent that way, though. It's like the difference between your favorite song that you sometimes hear on the radio, and then after you buy the tape and listen to it two million times you don't even hear it anymore. I don't want to become one of those old ladies who wears a gallon of perfume because she's all desensitized to it. I mean, I love 'em and all, I just don't want to become one of them.

My fav?

Wild mint. I run across it all the time in/near the Olympics in really wet areas. We also happen to have it on my grandparents farm where I grew up, reminds me of home.

Nothing better for the price

Where did you find them?

Meaning

I mean that I found them because of your great map, I admired the ones across the street from the mall.
