Open thread. Who's your "us"? Who's your "them"? Be honest. Listen. Have fun.

David Rauh from Mixx96 is heading up this awesome project. The gist of it is that local artists can get an honorarium for arting-up a bench in downtown. The press release is here, the request for proposals is here, and the application is here. The downside is that it's only for five benches right now, but I guess we could always press for more in the future. Press.... would that be a bench press?

I ate two pounds of corned beef last night. I don't remember who punched me in the face. Thanks to everyone who knew the lyrics. I'll go through Amber's photos later and see if there's anything postable.

(Okay, so this is my "access denied" comment on the "Rob Richards' message to Mike" thread. Sorry I couldn't get it into the thread itself, but the asshats who control the intertubes got in my way.)

You and Gug can how me how a conversation model with JT will help him have a come to Jesus moment and issue a retraction on anything he posts that is shown or known to be fraudulent or a misrepresentation.

My response to emmett's thread was blocked, obviously by politically-motivated evil petty censoring docents, so I am reposting it here.

My top three choices for appointment are Danielle, James and Joan. I think the new council will have a tendency to be kind of a getalong gang, and I hope the appointee will be capable of thinking outside "team" when necessary. I also hope the appointee will not take too seriously their debt to the members who voted for them. I don't have much hope for a truly well-rounded council for the next two years, but it could be much worse.

In the O's breaking news.

OLYMPIA - A bicyclist who was participating in a “Critical Mass” bike ride was arrested under the city’s pedestrian interference ordinance downtown about 6:15 p.m. Friday after he blocked the path of a sport utility vehicle between Legion Way and Seventh Avenue on Capitol Way, police said.

I have pasted and/or attached info about the meeting below. All who are interested in OPD issues should sit in on this meeting. Remember, though, that it is a "read-only" meeting--i.e., you can't participate. :(

The O is doing a story on what it's like to be a dad. I know we have a few of them here, so get yer dadly wisdom out there!

(Yes, I am a big enough nerd to be on the Reader Network. :) )

As a valued member of The Olympian Reader Network, we'd like your feedback on
the following issue. Your comments may be used in the newspaper or online.

The Olympian is working on a story about the things that make men nervous as
they're about to become fathers for the first time. We want to hear about what
made you or a dad you know anxious about having a child. E-mail your comments to
reporter Heather Woodward at hwoodward@theolympian.com by noon Wednesday.
Responses could be published in The Olympian or online at theolympian.com.

The Olympian's editorial board is looking to fill two community representative spots. The deadline is today at 5 p.m. The link is here . If you don't get picked, you can keep crabbing about the zero; if you do get it, you can tell the rest of us what to think. It's a win-win situation!
