Ryan Christopher Jackson, owner of Jackson Insuance Agency in Lacey has petitioned the Thurston County Superior Court to get his dog back. The only surviving dog. The other dog, Nickie, had to be euthanized after is was found in such terrible shape at Jackson's home in Lacey that it was continually vomiting and could no longer stand. It's bowels were twisted and it leaned against the walls of the home to support its weight. The hearing is on Thursday April 17 in Richard Strophy's courtroom in Building Two of the courthouse complex.
Jackson now wants "Ginger" returned to him. When taken by Animal Control, Ginger weighed 20 pounds. A dog her size averages about 50 pounds. The dogs were seized because they were found to be at imminent risk of death. Unfortunately, that was true for Nickie.
I am unsure of the time of the hearing, but you could call Animal Services or Superior Court to find out. You could also call Farmers Insurance and tell them how you feel about Mr. Jackson. I encourage everyone who cares about animals to let your voice be heard. show up at the courthouse with your own dog and give these poor animals a voice.
It would be a terrible miscarriage of justice for that dog to be returned to someone who failed to give it food and water. I am sure that Ryan Jackson fed himself over those several weeks that his dogs were starving.

Hi to all, I am new here and this is my first comment. I am hoping to bring some attention to the recent story that KIRO TV and the Olympian did on the two dogs who were starved (one to death) by their owner, a Lacey business man age 34. I am not certain if naming him is appropriate, but his business is Jackson Insurance Agency on Martin Way. You can google the video of the dogs by entering "skeleton with fur" and the story comes up. I am hoping to get a large crowd together at the courthouse on April 1st, the day the dog owner is arraigned. These animals had no voice, they were locked in a small enclosure, covered in feces, without food for what the experts say was 45 days. The older, larger dog died a very painful death, with it's intestines twisted along with constant vomiting. |
