It never fails. There are certain times in life where a song jumps into my head. For instance: After reading of Ricks sad news I have had "Leader of the Band" (Dan Fogelberg) in my head ever since. Anytime that I, or a friend lose a loved one, this song pops into my head. There are other songs, for other occasions, but this one has always stood out for me. Does anyone else have times like this? As continued from another thread. Please feel free to add your thoughts, if you have numbers that is great too. EG, Gug, please forgive my lousy editing. Is Olympia an attractant for protest specific violence, and if so, why? I can understand the protests, but it really gets ridiculous in this city. One of the Olympian commenters said something interesting: Where was the violence in Portland/Seattle yesterday? Why Olympia? Submitted by Ehver Green on Fri, 05/02/2008 - 10:29am. combined. Much smaller than in previous years for the largest cities in Washington and Oregon. No arrests. In Olympia we have unconfirmed reports of 100+ marching. 6 arrests. They can't spell either. Something is probably wrong with your city when "hate about" gets more attention than "love about" Olympia.

This is recycled, but I thought someone had mentioned it was impossible, or against some set of rules. Hopefully some will be interested.

in case anyone is interested, I snapped a few photos post-cleanup. I wish I would have gotten a few pre-cleanup, but alas I was lazy.
Pretty huh?
Tagging doesn't take long in Oly
I wonder if it runs?

Did JPO's thread about UW students protesting concealed carry on campus get deleted? I thought we determined that UW was considered local due to its affect on the great Olympia community? Norm

So, it turns out I was wrong. Norm is, in fact, not a daddy. Given this information I'm a little (insert appropriate word here, but I can't think of an appropriate word that I am feeling) So, with that in mind I am taking a little break from the blog. Thank you everyone for all of the positive things that you shared with me, and all of the help that was given and offered. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate it. I'm gonna go find a beer now. Does anyone else have a sour taste in their mouth after this thread was closed? Maybe I'm being overly sensitive but it really didn't feel right to me. Was Rob's behavior acceptable on this thread? When called on it, his behavior simply went downhill. Instead of some kind of resolution (no, the issue does not feel resolved to me) the thread is just magically closed and we (I'm guessing here) are just supposed to walk away as if it weren't important enough? Olyblog has started feeling really sterile to me. I had hopes that it was just a phase that needed some time, but it jumped into the cold bitterness that seems to envelope it at times. Cold, sterile and bitter, fun combo. I can't really put my finger on it, something just doesn't feel right.

Today, begins a new chapter in Norm's life, and others as well. Joseph Daniel (JD) was born on March 15, 2008, and came in at a whopping 8lbs 3.6oz, 22 inches tall. He had a pretty rough time, so he's got some strawberries and a pretty rough bump on his head. Otherwise, he's got all his fingers, all his toes, and is an awfully quiet little baby. Wish me luck!

I don't want to post it here, so I'll link to it instead. I'm not sure how LTE work as far as permissions etc.

I should branch it out a bit...not everyone is sophisticated enough to watch cartoons....so any good quotes from popular media. Let's try and stick light-hearted. I'll post mine in a minute. Let 'er rip!
