I'm not into dramatic entrances/exits, but I feel that I owe some of you the courtesy of at least saying, "later". As opposed to just disappearing from the blog.

For my own well-being I feel I can no longer be a part of this community. I've typed and retyped this message a few times now, and cannot seem to come up with the proper description for my reasoning....at least not a polite one. Some of you are just a little too much for me to take.

I'm sure I'll run into some of you around town, and plan on stopping by the broho (or wherever the new meeting place is) once in awhile to say "Hi!".

I wish you all the best in your endeavors,

Norm

Don't Go Norm!

I for one would really miss you. I enjoy you and your comments. You have a lot of great insight. Hope I see you at Bro Ho. Its hard to get there myself unless its a clear night. Wish they had dog hitching racks haha. Perhaps I could put one of my hats on her and stand behind her and hold her up and pass her off as a very hairy person with a long nose? Or I could get a huge long skirt and short leash her to my ankle? I'm just full of great ideas! Hugs, Christie

New Identity

Maybe you could create a new identity and come back and try it out. Anonymity on the Internet does have some useful aspects.

What prompted this

Anything specific that caused you to cross the threshold? What was the last straw?

I haven't stopped posting,

I haven't stopped posting, but I'm doing it a lot less.  Still read every blog that makes the front page and occasionally check the tracker.

I'll say this - something has changed in the past month or so - maybe two months.  Not only is the site still having technical difficulties, some of the randomness and off the wall posts are a bit much.  I read the tagline for OlyBlog and know that unless you clean this up and track down the site problems, you will never be the media.

Problems

It takes a village. I don't think that anyone wants to take on the role of enforcement. It's an evolving process so stay tuned. In terms of technical problems, it is my assumption that these issues are related to traffic, mostly. But there might also be some issues with the complexity of the linking that goes on. One thing that would definitely help this situation is a firm foundation of financial support, to make hosting on a dedicated server possible. There is a link on the sidebar to donate.

You are absolutely right.

You are absolutely right.  It has been a while since I dropped some kwon in the jar - will do so this weekend...

Also, I can't help with any of the open-source software (technically, I just don't have my head around it), but I know lots of people at OEM server makers that all owe me a favor or two.  I've been know to give away software, what can I say!  We aren't talking free, but manufacturer cost - fat discount.  You know how to ask if you want help...

There was two or three

There was two or three threads where I could swear the author was either smoking something illegal, or they were flat-out delusional. It wasn't really a single thing that did it, and it had more to do with the way that I chose to digest the thread, than the thread itself.

Obviously I'm back, I had a nice little blog vacation, and feel that I have a healthy game-plan to deal with the mentioned threads.

Thank you for caring Rob.
