So, Mr. Whitlock was talking with me the other day about going shooting, and he really wants to shoot a tv...not just a tv but a running tv, probably displaying cnn or something. I think what he's going after is Internet media killing off TV media. Right after the conversation this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnWGWabxkKs pops into my head. It's good for a laugh if nothing else. So, with that starting us off ( the ability to go and pick out music videos on youtube is amazing ) would anyone like to discuss ideas on furthering independence from the television?

How to rid the world of television's menace? I think it's a family affair, a one person/one family at a time deal. More socializing and fun. We just need to have more fun. That's the answer.
internet vs. t.v.

After I got out of college the first apartment I got on my own I immediately signed up for the multi-wired attack that is cable t.v. and cable internet. After a year of paying for both I ran into one of the cable technicians in the hall who (why?) decided to show me how easy it is to steal cable t.v. One month later I was only paying for cable internet. That lasted about a year, and then one day I realized how little time I was actually spending in front of the t.v., so I gave my t.v. to my ex (insidious revenge?) and have never looked back. Well, almost. My family now owns one t.v. for watching movies. It hasn't picked up an actual channel for quite some time.
I don't actually believe that the internet will do away with television, though. Only, that the internet will do away with television as we currently know it. The popularity of streaming video media online is the nascence of future television (t.v. 2.0).
