HOW OLD IS THE GRAND CANYON? PARK SERVICE WON’T SAY — Orders to Cater to Creationists Makes National Park Agnostic on Geology

Washington, DC — Grand Canyon National Park is not permitted to give an official estimate of the geologic age of its principal feature, due to pressure from Bush administration appointees. Despite promising a prompt review of its approval for a book claiming the Grand Canyon was created by Noah's flood rather than by geologic forces, more than three years later no review has ever been done and the book remains on sale at the park, according to documents released today by Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER).

NASA - Galileo was Correct

»

Well, Galileo wasn't exactly

Well, Galileo wasn't exactly correct. I am no expert on this, in fact, I could be totally wrong. But it is my understanding that the rate at which objects fall has to do with their relationship (in terms of mass) with the body they are falling toward. Somehow the gravitational constant gets involved and there was Galileo's error. However, sensitive technical equipment is necessary to detect the differences in the rate of falling objects in vacuo.

By the way, I share the birthday of Galileo and not only a sun sign (Aquarius), but also the rising sign (Leo) and moon sign (Gemini) with Galileo. So if you're ever curious about what Galileo was like - well, I can give you a pretty good idea.

Okay, so I probably have no idea what I am talking about. But gravity is a fickle beast, no?

It's okay.  It sounds

It's okay.  It sounds good.  I hope gravity isn't a fickle beast.  I'd hate to go hurtling off of the earth on some morning.  What a crappy way to start the day.
