From the Spokesman-Review.com:

OLYMPIA – Inside the Olympia Free School – beside the anti-free-trade-agreement poster, a couple of old computers and a Tupperware tub of Chicken Fiesta – Aaron Dixon sketches out his plan.

"I think it's time that Maria is challenged," he said. "I think it's time that the Democratic Party is challenged."

U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell's re-election bid has drawn an opponent from her left flank: a former Black Panther sharply critical of the Democrat's support for the war in Iraq.

Here's what Goldy thinks about Dixon's candidacy.

I didn't see Dixon's appearance posted anywhere. Did word get out about it and I just didn't notice?

Another weak candidate?

His only real strong stances are that he's against the war, CAFTA and the Patriot Act. These are important issues for sure, but there has got to be more. Not once did he say he wants to open up a dialogue with members of other parties. No one is saying that. There was a time when I thought the Green Party was refreshing, but anymore they seem to be playing the same game the democrats have slipped into thanks to George Lakoff. That is use the same tactics as the republicans, or, beat them at their own game.

If I'm going to support a candidate, it's going to be someone who talks about solutions, pragmatic and creative solutions, not a candidate who vomits his parties' talking points.

Green party website

It was up at the Green Party of South Puget Sound's web calendar.

I'm all for people running for public office, but I'm also all for people voting.

He doesn't vote.

He doesn't seem to be off to good start.

Do you think he'll vote when his name's on the ballot?
