I was looking at the pictures on one of the Nazi's sites (David Pringle -- any relation to the potato chip guy?), when I finally got it (duh!) about why the NSM choose to meet at the Capitol building. It's the neo-classical architecture that they're drawn to because it allows them the pretend that there is some remnant of Das Dritte Reich still around.

Hitler was wedded to the idea that architecture and ideology were tightly linked, and his plan was to completely rebuild Berlin in the huge, out-of-scale, nazi-classical style. This also explains why most of the pictures they took were away from the crowd, and toward the buildings. They staged the whole thing just as for an opportunity to take some photos!

Comrade Bill White of the NSM has a post (caution advised, link to hate site) up (Hi Bill!) about how to properly choose a rally location, along with other organizing strategies. (I can just hear the NSM now complaining that I have this all wrong.) But if he saw our beautiful capitol building in person, he too would be reduced to a.........whatever the NSM was on Monday.

Does he still work for the NSM? They would really do well to listen to some of what he has to say. Maybe they got his "do's" and "don't"s lists mixed up? It seems they unrelentingly used every mistake he mentions in their Olympia organizing.

Hitler has been dead for a long time, what is the guy in the picture up to? It is a wonderful and artistic photo, but I can't understand it. I can't imagine this guy really respects Hitler. Had Hitler lived he surely would have gone after those that were feebleminded enough to believe in his nonsense. The feebleminded are no foundation to build a master race upon and would have been exterminated.

There is a film called "The Architecture of Doom: The Nazi Philosophy of Beauty through Violence" out, once I get some more rest will watch it.
