As I've mentioned before, electoral-vote.com is THE PLACE to get a sense of what to expect nationally come election night. It doesn't look too pretty for the Republicans at this point: +38 Democratic seats in the House, and +6 in the Senate. And, because polls are not taken in many districts considered "safe," it could be even worse for the Republicans and they have no idea. It looks like it's going to be a "Throw the bums out!" kind of election this year.

Yeah!
Submitted by hrstruggle on Fri, 11/03/2006 - 10:02am.Like others have said in the blogosphere, part of me thinks that's why Karl Rove is always smirking because he knows things about that realm of the vote that we don't know. Bastard!

But how is showing identification prior to voting going to unfairly affect the final election? Is it even an unreasonable standard?
ID for the 4th Ave
Submitted by Ehver Green on Fri, 11/03/2006 - 8:50pm.Why not to vote? Anyone without ID should be turned away and given the opportunity to come back with valid credentials. You certainly should have to prove who you say you are. Sure there will be exceptions for the people who lost their ID that day - no doubt. Provisions should be made in advance of arriving at the vote site. If you are serious about voting and its accuracy this should not be an issue.
Tampering with machines? It's going to happen and there will likely be lawyers hired by both parties at voting locations to keep it to a minimum.
