ESPN should be ashamed of itself.
» EDIT: Thank you Norm for showing us evidence that this was not an ESPN production. It was a very good imitation of ESPN's style, though it was in terrible taste. My assertion still stands that America is more entertained than the Roman Empire was, just in different ways. It is no longer OK to stage public battles between man and beast, but it's ok to do it with CGI on the TV or silver screen.

Submitted by Norm on Sun, 01/07/2007 - 5:03pm.I think bringing it here was a good thing. A level of awareness of what some folks in this country do with their spare time is disheartening. Ignorance of it won't solve anything though.
And yes, it looked pretty dang real. I just couldn't imagine ESPN of all places covering this.

Depends
Submitted by Robert Whitlock on Sun, 01/07/2007 - 8:19pm.But it depends on who you ask. What is better? If faster and more is better, then yes, America is better. I think there are aspects of each culture that are reproachable and aspects that are appealing. Unfortunately those appealing aspects of America are rapidly being overshadowed by the quickening growth (possibly cancerous and totally out of control) of the American corporate military industrial complex, et al.
