People are continuing to die unnecessary deaths in Iraq. Opposition to the war becomes more and more important as every day goes by. The Bush Administration has flipped its lid and lost every, and any, shred of credibility it once had, regarding the war. I feel obligated, as an American, to stand up in opposition to the criminal actions of my government. The Bush Administration is out on a limb, they have even received an indictment (albeit theoretical) for prewar intelligence fraud.

Now all of you, dear fellow Olympians, have an opportunity to express yourself and be heard. Next Saturday, December 9th 2006, there will be an anti-war / pro-peace call for an end to the war. Join your friends and neighbors on the 4th Avenue bridge at 12 O'clock Noon. Let your voice be among the many who demand redress of grievances relating to Bush Administration malfeasance.

Bring a sign that expresses your opposition to the war, or to the Bush Administration's assault on humanity. This event is ultimately designed to support those in the military who have courageously chosen to resist participating in the illegal and immoral - invasion and occupation of Iraq. Specifically, the actions of Ehren Watada and Suzanne Swift.

Sarah has already added this event to the calendar. But I want to make sure it receives more attention, so don't be surprised if I continue to blog it as next Saturday approaches.

Remember, next Saturday, Dec 9th, rain or shine, at 12 Noon. Support military war resisters and request an end to the war. I hope to see you there!

Dress warm

From experience I can pass on the word that folks best dress warmly, vigiling on that bridge means you get a good dose of cold (relatively) fresh air.
