I was just browsing some of the comments at today's Letters to the Editor page. I was struck by a couple of the comments, though they don't seem as outlandish as they sometimes do. Spiceman was pretty noticeable, his incredulity was dripping off the page.
» I thought I would start this thread so as to have a place for the discussion of comments at TheOlympian.com. Maybe this could be a way to, you know, get somewhere with it. Although I find many of the comments and interactions between commentators, on The Olympian's website, distasteful, I think that we would lose something - an aspect of our culture, something very flavorful and colorful - if certain comments were disallowed. In some ways, it's nice to see how people think, and how crude, base and vulgar some of our neighbors are.

Submitted by bubbaz (not verified) on Wed, 12/06/2006 - 1:37pm.There is way too much bigotry found in that newspaper.
The Olympian always tries to cast my beloved town of Olympia in a negative light..
As a result, I have decided to stop purchasing that newspaper it all together..
It should just be renamed "The Lacey Rag" or whatever..
