Who does the best pies in town? This is an important, serious quest, one that will require much tasting. Seasonally appropriate also: autumn equals pumpkin pie. Have fork, will eat pie.

Pie fight!
Submitted by stevenl on Tue, 10/31/2006 - 7:52am.The McCleary Methodist Church frequently holds community wide brunches and dinners, and the pies are legendary. If you're lucky, you'll be there during the traditional pie fight!

Submitted by Sarah on Tue, 10/31/2006 - 2:12pm.Maybe we should have an OlyBlog pie-in sometime. Some of the guys can demonstrate proper cream pie throwing technique waaaaaay on the other side of the room while the rest of us can, you know, eat lots of pie!
Ha ha...I am picturing you
Submitted by OperaGirl on Tue, 10/31/2006 - 3:15pm.Ha ha...I am picturing you eating pie and singing songs about unicorns.
I do really like to make pies...all different kinds...savory and sweet. I haven't made any lately as my food processor broke and I hate cutting in butter by hand and I really hate pre made store bought pie crusts. For me - it's all about the crust!
I have never been in a pie throwing contest. I think *we* should get to throw the pies at the guys. Now that would be fun. =)

My Pie in the Sky business
Submitted by Ehver Green on Tue, 08/28/2007 - 1:16pm.My Pie in the Sky business idea - don't steal it! Yes, there are a few of these in Seattle...we can modify the name to satisfy legal obligations.
I'd like to start a 'Pies and Pints' type business in the art-deco bus station building. Not pizza pies (although we may have a calzone/stromboli type pie) but rather pie, pies.
I'm thinking a Blueberry Wheat Ale with a Vanilla ice cream pie. Or, maybe a pint of Stella with your Chicken Pot pie. How about a Taco pie with a Dos Equis? Pies would be coupled with beer much like wine with meat.
P.S. - I know, some developer wants an underground garage, with a retail floor, a couple of floors for business and the rest housing on that piece of land. I want the building as is running a locally owned business. Think the community could own it and run it as a business?
