I found an excellent article on Dealing with or Preventing Burnout in Activist Work by Neil Wollman.
» I also like this article Working with Activist Burnout by Mary E. Gomez PhD. She distinguishes between what she calls "flexible commitment" and "driven commitment". I appreciate this quote from a current activist who is able to maintain a balance: I've never struggled against the feeling of burnout. If I felt burned out, I just let myself feel burned out. I didn't have any moralistic attitude toward it or fight it. I'd feel `Oh, I'm burned out, I'll just sit here. Let someone else do it. I'll just be here and be blah'.
