The boys wanna fight
But the girls are happy to dance all night

They know best how they can mess with us
Nursing an opinion's getting dangerous
And in a world where good's not good enough
Let's get loaded and kick up a fuss

Boys Wanna Fight, by Garbage

This is my theme song tonight, but actually, I wanna fight too. I feel furious, on fire, angry angry angry. Some of this is due to the postdromal phase of migraine that I'm experiencing today. Much is due to the work I'm doing.

I burnt off some of the body reaction with a fast walk through the cool evening, then danced hard. Finding something to laugh about has helped also.

Humanity keeps creating situations that cause trauma. Some of us end up with PTSD. I remember a friend of mine who is out as a lesbian commenting once that she couldn't even get the chance to be "post" anything, trauma was ongoing, it hadn't stopped yet.

How do we deal in the mean time? How do we use the burn, the fire, the passion, without torching ourselves or others?

I've cracked open my copy of The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook - good suggestions here on discharging anger, dealing appropriately with it, and lookin' for insight. I'm reminded that I can view this fury tonight as a sign, not as a problem.

So, yeah, Boys Wanna Fight. Sometimes Girls do too. Tonight I dance and continue training to fight the good fight, the fight for social justice and liberation.

I had a migraine yesterday,

I had a migraine yesterday, too. It never fully materialized, but it hovered all day. Yuck. We should go out for coffee this weekend and talk about headaches and who to blame them on. And social justice.

Hm...something

must be in the air..I had one that never completely came full on, but  hovered in and out.  Still uncomfortable enough.  Yes, coffee. that would be good.

Coffee

Coffee good, let's do it.

Errrr

I hope it's not just a female thing. I actually called in sick thursday because wed night and all day thurs I had a massive headache. not sure if it was a migraine but it really sucked.

See

You just proved that it is not just a female thing, though are you also feeling the raging crankies? 4 of us OlyBlog women got together and we all agreed we've been some version of irritated and in some cases, furious, most of the week.

man, I've been feeling this

man, I've been feeling this so much.  Headaches, bad moods, general cloudiness in my though processes leading to frustration and anger.  I was joking that Mercury is in retrograde because that's always my generic excuse when it seems like me and everyone else is in a funk but I just looked it up and it is in retrograde.

Psychic

We can be phone psychics and astrologers who don't even believe in all that but who also always make accurate predictions about what Mercury is doin'.
