Are you a geek or nerd? Sometimes a dork? Occasionally a freak?

Wait wait, I'm not done yet. Next question: Are these questions geeky, nerdy, dorky, or freaky? Combo answers allowed.

I have always been called

I have always been called such things as "book nerd", "classical music nerd", "theater nerd" and I wear those badges proudly!  =)

Here's the test. Present the subject with a glass of some mysterious and foul looking fluid. The level of this liquid is at the halfway mark of the glass

A Nerd will use a centimeter ruler to determine if the glass is exactly half full/half empty.

A Geek will drink the liquid just because it is there.

A Dork will pick up the glass, spill the fluid, then drop the thing allowing it to shatter on the floor.

And a Freak will attempt to answer Sarah's question!

According to Norm

I'm a geek.

Don't quote me though Oly. I

Don't quote me though Oly. I think for the most part I'm a geek. I may have to do some research to be more definitive. When it comes to star wars or LotR, I'm certainly a nerd.

Oh yeah, another catagory

OG says I'm a creep.

Are you sure?

Are you sure she said that or was she singing at the time, you know, that song by Radiohead? I bet it was nothing personal, she just happened to be singing that song by coincidence.

Or maybe she was telling you to sweep? Leap? Not make a peep? That the roof was steep?

I think you need to put it

I think you need to put it in a bubble and let it go!

i'm a luddite

I believe we can use computers to return us to our pre-internet lives where we had communities, real coffee shops, and tans from the sun when it was out.  Subversive, to be sure, but I'm working the system from the inside. Luddite.

Industrial espionage? Should I get you a tuxedo and PPK?

you were not supposed to mention....

..my penguin sidekick and and the ppk (pre packaged kraut) that we use to subdue our enemies.

Luddite Blogging

I like your subversive stance on this one.
»

Subversive

Good addition to our list, as is Luddite also. And I'm thinking something along the lines of Bubbled in a hat tip to OG's answer to all things stressful.

Maybe those of us who are subversive can identify as Subverts.

I suppose it can be said that Luddites are subversive at times.

How geeky is this?

Dweebs

What about dweebs? Inclusivity people!
»

Dweebs!

There is debate over the definition of any of these terms, including dweeb, I wonder if definitions vary according to geography. Is a west coast dweeb different than an east coast dweeb?

Geographic Differences

When I was in Massachussets last Spring doing a transfer program for school, I got called a "Shoebie" for wearing socks and sandals at the same time (the socks were worn under the sandal straps - not over them.)
»

Shoebie

Very cool, never heard that one before. Check out what the Urban Dictionary has on shoebie.

Reminds me of the word "floods" used to describe someone's supposedly too short pants. But I don't recall any specific name for those who wear floods.

Hey wait, aren't Geeks just nerds with social skills?
»

Maybe

That is how the Wikipedia articles describe them pretty much: geeks as nerds with social skills. But I've heard both words used differently also.
