No matter the technical winner of our poll, I think of all the NSM who visited us, Justin Boyer was our favorite. Or he was at least a tie for top place with Jim Ramm.

So I figure folks might be interested in the latest scoop. Justin Boyer is now in Ohio and he has been appointed the ANSWP (Bill White's new Nazi group) Ohio state leader pro tem.
»

Interesting

Wasn't he the Seattle Unit Leader of the NSM? Do we know if anyone now holds that lofty title?
»

Changes

He was the Seattle unit leader of the NSM, isn't anymore. So far I haven't seen any announcement of the NSM choosing someone else to bear that lofty title. The NSM does have a contact listed under Seattle, it is a Kent p.o. box, but I don't know if the NSM site is fully updated.

As for Bill White's group, ANSWP, they are picking up several former NSM members, and word is that their Washington state whatever will be appointed soon.
»

Do you think...

...that Justin moved to Ohio in order to align himself with White's group? Is this Nazi business so central to who he is that he would move across the country?
»

A few pieces of the puzzle

Back in March of this year, this was written in The Olympian about the NSM:
The group wasn’t active in Washington until earlier this year, when neo-Nazi Justin Boyer moved from Ohio to Washington and kick-started the dormant local chapter.

Source
That is all I know for certain about Ohio.

As for Bill White's group (link direct to Nazi site), it is national.  From what I've read so far as an outsider, I don't think anyone would need to move to be a member.
»

He couldn't drum up enough

He couldn't drum up enough new recruits and decided to stick to his old haunt?
»

I know nothing

My official line at this point is "I know nothing.".
»

More Nazi Drama

What I've pieced together from reading Bill White:

  • Most everyone in Washington state except Justin Boyer resigned during recent NSM scandals.
  • Justin was made NSM Washington state unit leader.
  • Justin was told to turn over his national and Washington and Oregon contact lists to national headquarters, he refused, NSM national suspended him.
  • He relocated to Ohio.
  • He was appointed ANSWP Ohio state unit leader by Bill White.
  • NSM officials placed threatening calls to Justin.
  • The break up of the NSM is now in another stage of purges of various levels of leadership.
  • Justin wrote an official resignation from NSM letter dated 9/2.

My brother

I want you all to know that I am brother to JUSTIN BOYER. I also want you to know that whereas i dont support my brothers racist views or idealogy. I do support that he is expressing his right to promote his belief system. As twisted and warped as he has become i want you to know that my family was not and still is not like that view in which my brother portray's. I serve our goverment and currently fight in iraq. Just be aware that what I am doing is fighting for your views and expressions the same as im fighting as his no matter whether I agree or not. My family is not as my brother spoke of and you can hold what i say with firm substance that my brother was not this way he had friends of all colors growing up. he went back to ohio to raise his child and work on his relationship with his G/F. I honestly think maybe he has grown up. I will call today and let you all know how he is doing since it seems that he is on your mind
»

Thanks for that info.

Like you, we don't support Justin's message. We protested that message through more speech (ridicule), rather than by questioning his right to speak. It is a testament to the strength of our country that he was allowed to speak at such an important place (State Capitol Campus). Let's hope that Justin has matured enough to know that hate and exclusion don't make the world a better place. Please do keep us informed about how he's doing.

Thanks for the Information

Thanks for the information about your brother, Tyler. I appreciate the news and your perspective as a family member.

I hope you return from Iraq safe and sound, unharmed by the violence (that I presume) you're experiencing.

I would like to disagree with you about one point in your letter though. You wrote that you are "...fighting for [my] views and expressions..." But in actuality, the military action in Iraq is not about freedom, or freedom of expression. If anything, freedom of expression has become more tentative since the invasion and occupation. I realize this is off-topic to this thread, but I think it's important. The military action in Iraq is about global domination for the US via resource acquisition. The Bush Administration desires to place control over Iraq's vast oil wealth, into the machinations of US, and US friendly, corporations. That's why the US, and you, are in Iraq. There were no legitimate altruistic motivations for this violent invasion and occupation. The military action has brought only unnecessary suffering.

And again, as far as freedom of expression goes, The USA is quite possibly only one 9/11 event / attack-on-Iran away from a genuine police state where freedom of dissent gets squashed like an insect.

So if you want to fight, please fight for truth. Thank you Tyler.

Are you just trying to start

Are you just trying to start an argument with the guy? Do you honestly feel he's never heard a point-of-view similar to yours?
»

It's new information for many people...

...that Iraq has nothing to do with "spreading democracy."

Look at the time of Rick's last post

Coincidence?
»

C'mon Rick

Who are these many people? I think there are many people that hear it and would likely tell Rob that he was wrong, but I have a hard time believing that there are many people who are completely unaware of this point-of-view. Even though some of us ignore it, that doesn't mean we aren't aware of it's existence.

Oh, I've never heard your line of

reasoning before. Are you just trying to start a fight Norm?

Hey, I didn't start this. I

Hey, I didn't start this. I also wasn't the one who admittedly changed the subject of the thread. That normally seems to drive Rick nuts, but if it's an anti-war message it must be manageable.

disinformation...misinformati

disinformation...misinformation...what to do...

I think it is important to confront and to counteract misinformation and disinformation whenever and wherever it crops up. It is important to speak the truth. It is important to oppose bad information. It is especially important to present this truth to the soldiers who are actively participating in an illegal/ immoral/ unnecessary/ unjustified - military action.

There is no legitimate basis for the occupying presence of the US military in Iraq. It is not acceptable, from either a legal point of view, or a humanitarian point of view, to militarily occupy a foreign nation in order to acquire natural resources.

That is the truth. And this is the truth too: The Bush Administration's justification for the invasion - that Iraq posed a threat to the security of the USA via WMD - was based on information that was far less than credible. This can be documented based on purely mainstream media sources, such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

Thanks to Tyler for giving me the opportunity to share this vitally important information.

I give up

more power to you Rob. Would you mind explaining this all to the government so we can set this straight though? They don't seem to be in agreement with you and you informing this soldier of his illegal acts is going to get nothing accomplished. In fact, I'm betting if he comes back and reads this he's either going to laugh about it, or be pissed about it. Either way your energy was spent on the wrong person(s).

Pissed Off Soldiers

If I was a Soldier I would be pissed, that's for sure. But I wouldn't be pissed at someone who is telling the truth about how my military service to the nation was abused by a criminal executive administration... I would be pissed off at the appropriate people - the Bush Administration (and associated cronies) - the very people who put me in harm's way.

I direct any soldiers who are reading this to First Lt. (and resister of this illegal "war") Ehren Watada's website: thankyoult.org.

»

don't give up Norm,

Just care about things that matter. Rob W isn't going to end the war, nobody is. It'll end when the rich want it to. The government convincing liberals to believe in democracy was the biggest sham of the 20th century, liberals also buy water front property in Colorado.

You and I were both in the military and know the reaction of the guy is probably going to pretty apathetic. I know I would care less what was said, I'd be enjoying myself at home.

Someday somebody should start a thread about this topic and not hijack other threads.

»

Not or never pissed off

I really didnt mean to turn this into a big deal I'm very humble on both sides of the issue. I E when you got a brother like mine as all this started you kinda learn to live with the good and the bad, I must say though that the person saying the reason was stupid and its illegal, he is correct i signed so i wasnt given the right to question the reasoning behind it as the LT did. he didnt have that right either thats why he will be in trouble with it but right or wrong i see that us as americans being here are doing the best we can with the common people of iraq im not going into deep details but i work with the iraqi populace every day and they get things from us that they would never get daily, else where. I love to help these people who are just trying to make a living in a country torn by war and I feel that by being here for what ever reason right or wrong has given me and other guys that feel the same way reason enough to touch there lives one person at a time to show them that some americans do care about them. For the record i dont much like being in the military lol lol lol thank you all for your comments though

Right to Question, to Object, and to Refuse Service

Tyler, I want to challenge your assertion that you don't have a right to question the basis of the war. You may feel like you don't have a right. But you do. You're an American Citizen, and you have a right to question the actions of your government, especially when they are taking your very life into your hands.

The difference between enlisted and officers is that officers not only have a right to question - they have a duty to question. They have a duty to know that their orders are legal and in compliance with the constitution of the USA as well as other applicable laws.

That said, I echo what Rick and Phil said, please be safe and take care. Thanks for writing.

»

RW,

I think you have amazing spirit and energy, and your faith in democracy aside, I agree with you on most things. This is not one of them. It so very easy for you to say, "You should disobey orders.", to a soldier serving during wartime. But it is unrealistic and irresponsible.

If he were to disobey orders he would end up in military prison for a very long time, this most likely coming after severe physical and emotional abuse before he leaves his command. I would like to hear how you are going to support him through that, how you can assure that he'll be protected. A single soldier refusing won't get an inch in any paper or second on any news program. There have been platoons that have refused to go out without armor and haven't gotten much press for it.

This tactic worked pretty well in Vietnam, it's true. But there are two things that come to mind. There were massive educational campaigns launched targeting GI's before they went over. They were already questioning their duties before they set foot on the ground. This led to the refusals being more systemic, including all branches of the service. This forced them into the spotlight and gave them protections.

The other thing to keep in mind is that when a tactic works once, it may not work again. It may not work again because the "opposition" has most likely developed a protocol in the event it is used again, therefore they are ready for it, and it won't have the same effect.

my two cents, keep the change

your right about that

your very right you cant voice opinions in the military, its been said that you gave up your rights to defend the rights of others, and that is so true because the things that they can do to you that you dont read about or hear about is so terrible. even if you get publicity its a price of alot of stuff they do before they boot you out, its not gonna change for anyone person, ive done confinement ive done the physical punishment, lets just say for standing incorrectly, they have a magic word its called disrespect, and the term is written so broad under it falls anything a soldier will do, not looking at the speaker, looking at the speaker, giving short answers, not answering, breathing heavy, smiling, looking pissed off. not standing straight, what ever it is. because punishment and conviction is based on some one higher than you his point of view how he thought you was acting, two way communication is a thing of the civlian sector. im being serious ive been in it. you cant win, they know that, the chain of command idea is a joke unless some of them hate eachother but its normally a group that have been around eachother they know eachothers familys and all went to "school" together. the army isnt a very big place and when you think that you have a job that is even smaller you deal with the same people in one tour or the next. it wont matter ever because the system is designed around all of it, built in defences, for self survival i geuss, like rigged elections where you know who is gonna win, it supports a heirarchy system of goverment the very kind that america has condemed. its a dictatorship. in the v war the protests was used against the enemy to break america's spirit and it drove them to do things that would make headlines to put the american people agaisnt the war they used it because they was a weaker force they know the voice of americans was and could do more than they themselves could. it cost many americans there lives, they planned around protesting. its crazy to think that people thousands of miles away was manipulated by the viet cong, but thats what history says. people that study that kind of thing see a trend like that similar to that here in iraq. being enlisted you are expected to execute, being an officer you are expected to plan in accordance with the commanders Intent. thats it.

its not that i dont have the right

its not that i dont have the right but it wouldnt be worth the cost, and thats how they trap you,
