So sayeth General JC Christian about our Clown Power. His comment is in the thread The Nazis Are Coming to Town.
The best way to confront these jerks is to mock them ruthlessly. That's what they did when this same group came to Olympia, WA. The locals dressed up as clowns and mimiced the speakers. They also had music and dancing--it was a big party. It was very effective. There was a major split in the NSM a week or so later, and some of the recriminations I read at various NSM websites cited the Olympia rally as one of the reasons. The rally was also condemned as an embarassment by a number of posters at Stormfront (In one comment, a klansman went on and on about how embarrassed he was to be on the same side as the organizers--how enbarrassing it must be to embarrass a klansman?)   The people at Oly Blog put it together. Talk to them. They are absolute geniuses. I'm ccing this email to one of them.   Here's what Dave Neiwert had to say about it: nice day for nazis.
Tomorrow the NSM visits Madison, Wisconsin.

Let's get together for coffee soon and we can chat about the pure genius that is us! Ha ha.

Yes

Yes, we'll definitely do so soon.

And maybe we can finally figure out why the bad boyz didn't comment on me in the Alice in Wonderland outfit, I put so much work into it, and alas, no rave reviews from my intended audience.

How long do you suppose

How long do you suppose before they are back? That was too much fun. I miss that kind of organized fun and basic tomfoolery. Do you think we could talk them in to coming back for one Libra's birthday? I actually feel like I want to be a clown next time.

Updates

I've been thinking on writing up an update on where they are now, the group has gone through quite a few dramatic changes since experiencing the magic of Olympia.

Either someone can prod me to actually do so, or eventually it will just happen, clown power will make me write it up.

What with the NSM focus on capital cities, maybe it is time to wind up a clown bus and hit the road, we could attend all the parties they throw across the nation.

prod prod prod

Write an update for us, Sarah!  There's nothing better than Nazi gossip!  What have those silly kids been up to?

I command thee to do it.

I command thee to do it. Now. :)

Well, if they're not willing

Well, if they're not willing to come themselves maybe we could do something along the lines of a Beatlemania/Spinal Tap/Dickie Roberts - Former Child Star tribute/history/retrospective and append to all that a little montage like they did at the end of More American Graffiti. Just a thought.

CIRCA

While on my dance travels in California I met up with a fellow from Sheffield England.  Somehow we got on the topic of alternative activism.  He belongs to a clown brigade in England called CIRCA, Clandestine Insurgent Rebel Clown Army.  It was fun to talk about the similarities and differences of the clowing approach to deliver a message.  He has an extensive background in peace and social justice issues and plans to come to Washington in the spring.  He offered to present on the art of clowing and social justice.....
