I keep thinking about this statement Bill White made on his blog and I'm curious what folks think.
Demands to kill people are a normal part of political dialogue.
Read it in context here  (remember that this is a Nazi blog so usual cautions advised).

Beyond who wrote it and the specific context, does the statement ring true in your experience? I'm not up on the current state of political discourse, I don't watch much TV, I don't follow political blogs or journals.

According to Dave Neiwert...

...this type of statement is what falls under the label of "eliminationist" language. I'd condsider it outside of acceptable political dialogue.

Back to reality

Thanks Rick, that is just what I needed, a reminder of the key to all this.

Actually I'm inaccurate when I say I've not been following political discourse, because when I think more on it, I have, but it is all of the eliminationist camp.

So I need to remember to occasionally get some fresh air and perspective.

By Dave Neiwert:
What, really, is eliminationism?

It's a fairly self-explanatory term: it describes a kind of politics and culture that shuns dialogue and the democratic exchange of ideas for the pursuit of outright elimination of the opposing side, either through complete suppression, exile and ejection, or extermination.
